BRM International Endurance Race 2008

 

A first for BRM Models, the International Endurance Race will be held at the Ayrton Senna Slot Club of Soragna on the days of July 12th and 13th.. The large wood track at the Ayrton Senna Slot Club should allow the BRM Porsches to really stretch their legs. This is a large scale event, teams including drivers from the USA, Austria, Germany and Italy have already commited to the race.

 

Philosophy:
The most original as possible!

All participants will be provided with the following parts:


At the start of pre-race test:

  • One new T-RS motor , with 9 tooth pinion installed
  • Two rear wheels complete with specific sponge tires produced for the race, already turned and mounted on wheels
  • Two stoppers for the tune of the rear axles


Before the introduction in Park Closed:

  • One T-RS motor new, with 9 teeth pinion installed
  • Two rear wheels complete with specific sponge tires produced for the race, already turned and mounted on wheels


Modifications:

  • All original BRM spare parts are allowed
  • It is allowed to use in Porsche 962C all new spare parts, that are in stock in the IMSA series:
    • Rear bearings and front spacers in brass
    • Oil treated Axles
    • New type chassis
  • The pick-up can be secured to the chassis (in the sense to glue the O-ring to ensure that the pick-up has no vertical movement)
  • It is possible make the following modification to the chassis:
    • under the seats of the rear to operate the fixing wheels and the crown (see photo 1 - change permitted only in the stock chassis of the 962C series)
    • the seat of pick-up, to avoid rubbing brushes (see photo 2)

  • In addition to BRM crowns of 34/36 teeth, has admitted the use of SIGMA crowns of 34/36 teeth, already available in BRM parts list.
  • It is allowed to use weights fixed at the top of the chassis.
  • The magnet is prohibited.
  • Is it possible to use a stopper in the rear axle, between the crown and the chassis, in order to allow the replacement of rear wheels without losing the correct tuning of the crown (BRM has already in production this accessory and will provide free to participants - if self-produced must be similar to that show in the photos 3 and 4 - any other type of accessory is not allowed).

  • It is possible to lower the front tires, but it is forbidden to treat them with glue (or similar) for limiting its grip - may be made slightly conical section.
  • Rear wing can be mounted flexible, for example using neoprene adhesive (see photo 5)

  • The use of adhesive tape under the chassis to prevent the loss of screws that fix the body is allowed (see photo 6)

  • It is allowed glue washers to screws that fix the body.
  • At the start of the race, cars must be complete with all parts, except the wing mirrors.
  • It is allowed to use customized liveries, but is not permitted any modification of the body line.
  • It is allowed to install light systems that are self produced.
  • Race Teams may consist of 3 or 4 drivers.
  • Entrance Fee per team: €80.00.


Track Power:
14 Volt minimum

Controllers:
All the Controllers are allowed

And like all other official regulations, it is prohibited everything that it is not allowed.

Added information for North America Drivers interested in entering this race as an American Team.

The maximum number of Teams for the race is 16, confirmation of participation is needed before the 20th June. Any North American Team wish to participate, please contact Alan Smith at alan@scaleracing.com or 1-253-255-1807 when confirming, providing the following information:- Name of the Team- Names of the drivers (3 or 4 per Team) Race: we have planned a total of 4 hours race, with 16 driving turns of 30 minutes each. Each driver has to do at least 2 driving turns.The estimated start of the race is 9.00 am and finishing by 7.00/7.30 pm
