On my desk right now is a new model from a Company some may not have heard of BBR. The name B.B.R. is taken from the names of the company founders who started their Company more than 20 years ago; Balestrini, Barberis and Reali. At first they produced resin and die cast models of 1970's Formula One cars like this Tyrrell.

Unless one has the resources, time, and wherewithal, to manage to get to one of what are now many historic race events around the world you will seldom have the opportunity to see in real life, a car we may choose to race as a slot car. The internet provides a wonderful source of photos from these events that picture cars that stir the soul. Monterey and Goodwood are events that display the glory of the past and I thank all those who attend and post pictures, as often, I spot cars in action, that I race and enjoy as slot cars.

It's always refreshing to get to test something different. Different is exactly what Team Slot has to offer. There was hardly a logo to be found on the cars of yesteryear, maybe a rare gasoline logo and the car makers emblem. It was a simpler time, and a time almost forgotten in our dollar driven, high horsepower age.

Honey, I shrunk the slot car. This can't be the "real" slot car, it must be some kind of mistake. Where's the rest of it? Rubberband powered too, I suppose? Is this some kind of joke?
It's no joke, and it is a slot car. It's the Seat 600E made by Reprotec, and I had to chuckle when I first saw it. It's small, even smaller than the recent Ninco Mini release. It's cute, and my daughter called it a "Bug".

In today's slot car market there seems to be a haze when it comes to the aftermarket chassis available. There are some that are preassembled, ready to run, but pricey. There are kits and partial kits, but what do you need to complete and run them? What gears, what axles, what motors, what rims are all questions faces when deciding what to order, and will it all work when all the parts are together?
