SCX seems to be on a roll as far as releasing some cool rally cars from the 70’s. The appeal to me is that a lot of these same cars also took part in road racing series back then as well. A good example of this is SCX’s retro/cool Alpine A110. It’s 1:1 counterpart was a LeMans competitor as well as rally car.

It's been 40 years since Aston Martin has been a force in GT racing, so when, in 2003, AM announced its stunning and aggressive-looking V-12 GT supercar, the DB9, motorsports enthusiasts around the world looked forward to the promise of a return to the racing glories of the David Brown era. That promise has been fulfilled, as the competition version of the DB9, the GT-1 class DBR9, has become a major force both in IMSA's American Le Mans Series and the European FIA GT Championship.

SCX is diving into the Tuner realm with an upcoming set and this latest offering the "Tuner Car 2" as SCX calls it. It's based on an Opel something that most in the North American market no little or nothing about. But with it's general resemblance to most small imports out there this car shouldn't feel completely foreign to the tuner crowd.

The Jaguar Formula 1 driven by Pedro De La Rosa has been eagerly awaited by many, though I can't explain why. It seems that it doesn't matter if the driver is successful, or if the car looks good, but as long as there are new liveries to run against, that is all that matters.

It's almost impossible for a reviewer not to compare cars from two different companies when they release the same car at virtually the same time. Comparisons will be made, and it's always a battle to see which car comes out on top.
Hitting the market at almost the exact same time as the Scalextric version, there has been a lot of debate over which car is better. I can only tell you what I found, and you will have to decide for yourself.

Sometimes something comes along that is so ugly it's adorable. Sometimes things that you normally would not want get painted a certain way and it becomes a must-have. The SCX Fiat 600 Abarth is probably for many just such a car. It's about as good looking as a bulldog, or a rat, but with that Gulf paint scheme is virtually impossible to refuse.

SCX has easily the widest selection of Rally cars of any other slot car manufacturer. Their rally cars sport one of the few available gear driven 4-wheel-drive on the market. In their latest wave of new releases, the Hyundai Accent WRC is presented in all it's glory.
The car features the Castrol Race Team graphics in silver, green and reddish-orange. The tampo's are very sharp and sturdy, ready for heavy bumpin' and bangin'.

In 1973, SCX released their own version of the Sigma under the reference number 4047. The Sigma was produced by SCX until 1982. For whatever reason, it was gone from the slot car arena, but now, thanks again to SCX, we have a chance to enjoy it once again.
When I first heard about the new Vintage release of the Sigma, my reaction was "oh great, another Limited Edition". I personally feel that Limited Editions should be left to the diecast world, and slot cars should be raced. But one thing that attracted me to the Sigma was the $45 price tag.

To a slot racer, Rally should mean fun! Rally should have some of the elements of the real motorsport, but keeping it safe within our living room or basement. We can simulate the stuck to the ground sensation of Formula 1, the bumping and banging of Nascar, but Rally is a bit tougher to catch the true feeling of.
SCX has been making Rally cars for some time now, and I thought it was time I experienced one.
