HTR High Tech Racing
from Graffiti Entertainment
Well, there's a new slot car racing sim on the market for iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad users. Now about a year ago a slot car sim hit the iPhone market and I wasn't too impressed. This time though, well,...is a little bit different. Enter High Tech Racing from Graffiti Entertainment.
In HTR's own words.
Yea, that's a little impressive isn't it. I know that some of you hard core guys won't be into the kitch track pieces like the loops or jumps. That's why you can build your own tracks though. I'll have to steal my buddy's iPhone and check it out personally. As I only have an Android device. Which kind of bothered me. So, I asked the developers about this. They've told me that they are waiting on software updates and pointed me towards thier software supplier. I won't let the name out in case it's a secret. But, I will say that they are using top notch "gear" to develope with. And Android versions will be on the way as soon as they can be ported over.
Now the "bad" news. You'll have to part with a whole three or five bucks, depending on which version you want (iPhone/iPod Touch or iPad) to have slot car fun while away from your favorite track. Of course, you'll have to have an iPhone/iPod Touch or iPad as well (doesn't everyone).
iPhone/iPod Touch Version
Blah, blah, blah. I know I lost the technologically challenged a while ago. Since they're gone now we can take a look at some screen shots.
Here we have the iPhone/iPod Touch version. Full size images are actual size.
As you might guess; the iPad version is a little bigger. I took the images down from their native 1024x768 to a more web friendly 800x600. So when you click on a smaller image don't be surprised if it's a little smaller than you expected.
You probably want to see some video of the game in action don't you? Then, check out the review that they did over at the Daily App Show. And remember, "Throttling is important".
While checking out the HTR site I noticed that they are holding a nice little Championship series, and first prize is an iPad. Not too shabby I must say! Let's see some actual slot racers take up the challange and bring home that iPad!
The tracks start off simple, as in the figure eight of Level 1, Track 1.
Then they reach the incredibly elaborate.... As in Track 3 of Level 3.
