  • How to remove Wheel inserts ?

    Hello BRM-SCI'rs,

    I'm having a problem with my BRM Sauber C9 n 63.
In one of the wheels the 2 parts of the brake disc got loose, rattling in the hub.
To put them in place, I need to remove the wheel insert.
I've tried but it won't come out. And I don't wanna damage it.
Does anybody know how it is put in, so I can take it out?

could a clear glue be infused into the wheel behind the insert to stop the rattle? The window fixing glue is possible or a water based wood glue that drys clear.

    just a thought.

      Very tight from BRM

The Sauber inserts are very tight in the wheel.

I have been able to get some out by heating up the rim, but care is needed or you will distort the insert.

When I fit rims I file them till they are a slip fit into the wheel, very slight resistance then use window glue as very light, and can easily be dissolved.

Heating them up was something I was thinking about too.
        Thanks for the tip Alan.
