  • Hello!

So I've joined the Hornby team here in North America. I've been a member of this board for quite a while and over that time i've been the contact person for hobbyists here. I've made a post about my new position so I won't repeat it here but suffice to say that I'm going to be here to listen, to answer questions (especially after I get deeply into the Scalextric products) and to advocate for US designs of slot cars for sale here.
We sell Hornby trains, Humbrol paints and hobby supplies, Corgi diecasts, Airfix models and of course Scalextric slot cars... and oh BTW we're the distributor for Slot It (which I'm sure nearly all of you know but it's worth repeating). My job as US Brand Manager will have me traveling around to connect with slotters and dealers much as I had for the past decade for my previous 2 slot-employers.
When I'm on the road I'll do my best to let you know ahead of time so if you'd like me to stop by your club I will do my best to do just that. I'll always have my controller(s) and probably some samples to show too BTW.

    And BTW my email is:
    [email protected]
My cell phone number is 570-979-5191

It will be good to have an official voice of scaly on this site.

Have you had any experience with arc pro yet ?

            Hi Dave K,

Itís great to hear that youíre back into the slot car industry. It takes a special type of person to do this type of work and I hear from many reliable sources that you are the right man for the job. The Hornby Team is lucky to have you.

The Super Tires Team would like to thank you for your assistance with the Carrera projects that we accomplished together and hope that we can work together again soon.

            Nick & Sandy
            Team Super Tires

Good to have you aboard with scalextric, Dave. I remember you with scx and Bryan Young and what you guys did for scx and the slot car hobby. Maybe your influence could move scalextric to come up with a better controller for their arc pro system. Their system is good, and a new controller would be even better for it.

I have not yet. I'm with the company about a week now and I still don't have a computer or business cards... it's early days.
I am due to go to England in a few weeks to the home office where I will be talking with the design and marketing folks about a range of topics. There's a lot for me to get up to speed on and it will take some time.

Hi Dave, congradulations on the new job. If you wander into the Chicago area, you are always welcome to come race with the Great Lakes Slot car Club. We usually race two alternating Saturday nites a month, including dinner. We are currently running an 'all scaley' lemans challenge series with LMP and GT cars including night races.

I am glad that they have hired someone that can act as an interface between customers and the company and that is active on a forum. There is no such role in the UK-based forum.

One of my great grief is with the current line up of GT3 cars: since they have moved to the inline configuration with the flat interior they have "ruined" their GT3 class.
Do not get me wrong, the new cars are fantastic but there are only three models. The Ford GT is a GTLM not a GT3...Instead of coming up with random cars like the McLaren F1 (with which other car would you race it??) would be good to see some coherence and with more than one livery per year given that they have a digital system out there that needs 6 cars to fill up a grid!

                          Congratulations Dave

How about Scaley putting there hat in the 1/43 slotcar ring so we can have some nice cars with slide guides like SCX compact and Kyosho dslot.
                          Thanks!!!

We do make a small scale of slots, but they're not 1/43. It's not really likely we'd do 1/43.

                              Thank you Dave,
Seeing that Ninco is in the 1/43 game now was hoping that Scaley would take a look also.
