  • SCX motor speed

    This may have been answered already, but I was wondering if the motors used in the SCX NASCARs are being used across their entire line-up. Will the new Ferrari 550 have the NASCAR motor or will it match the other 550's out there?

    Thanks for any info.

    So far all the SCX GT's have the old motor at Ace. I do have 2 spair NASCAR motors.

      Cool, Dan -- if they're available, how much would you like for them?

        Sorry El, but these motors are golden. One for my RAA GT and one for an Audi R-8.

          Oh, so you were just teasing me with two 'spare' motors.

              I'll survive.

              Shouldn't be a problem finding the motors from retailers, anyway. I don't know if they've started selling them yet, but it's just a question of time.

                OK, El, what are you up to?

                  Hey, James! When did you start slumming over here?

                  I've only had two complaints with SCX -- the lights tend to burn out, and the motors have been on the goofy side for my tastes. The new motors are right up my alley, and I think all of my SCX cars should get these new motors.

                    Goofy = slow?

                      No, you can be goofy but still fast I figure ...

                        Goofy = slow, big, incompatible with other brands, need a lot of voltage, brakes that stop the car before you've finished releasing the trigger. I wrote 'goofy' to save time, but that didn't work out as planned.

                          I wonder if the NASCAR motor will be the motor in the new Pro- Audi R8? If it was the Scaly Lola's would have a quick running mate. We can only wait and hope.

                            I hope so, Dan. I know they used the old motor in the new Ferrari 550, though.

                            This NASCAR motor is very nice -- makes me hopeful for SCX.
