  • Spirit Allen Head size

    Hey Guys,
I have a lot of different sized Allen Keys but not the size that Spirit uses....can anyone give me some insight into what size Allen head i need for spirit cars.

By the way I love the way these cars look but they are awful.

    cheers,
    Jim

Your best bet is to replace any allen screws you find on Spirit models as the head usually strips out of them (with the exception of those used in the crown gears of the Reynard LMP cars) on the first tightening. I use a Slot.it driver to get them out and will pull it to one side to make sure it digs into the screw so I can remove it. Slot.it or Slot Car Corner Canada make excellent replacements.

Yes, Spirit head screws are not the better. I did what Dr Vanski says , replace them with Slot It ones, and no trouble since.

Their size is the same than Slot It....so buy a MBSlot Dynamometric Screwdriver for Slot It screws and you'll never brake anything again.
