          as a side note -

wanting some competition for my fastest NINCO cars,
i tried lots of different motors
then stumbled on a Spirit motor from one of their Peugeots
in a word - fabulous .. fast, lots 'o torque
more than a match for the venerable NC-6
my Spirit Ascari is a rocket!

we started by setting standard times using an NC-2, a -5 and a -6, with stock NINCO axles, gears and wheels/tires
obviously, the NC-6 was superior, giving mid 8 second times
then we adapted a 21.4k and a 25k NSR King and added NSR gears axles and wheels .. the 21K was nice, smooth and torquey .. the 26K was even better, setting record lap times .. obviously, the upgraded parts made for better times - occasionally breaking 8 seconds .. but this was a tough job, and probably not worth the effort
then, using the NSR parts, i thought to try the Spirit motor .. it slipped into place easily .. best times ever - in the 7.8 second range .. what a lovely drive - great power and torque, great brakes, added magnetic downforce (useful on my NINCO track)
later, using the NINCO adapter, we tried SlotIt, ProSlot and ScaleAuto short can motors .. all were okay, but none could beat the Spirit, in speed or pleasure to drive
last, we threw in an MRRC red short can .. wow .. on one lap, we managed 7.63 .. but only once .. this motor is too crazy .. we couldn't do consistant laps

i have the Spirit motor/NSR parts in one Ascari
i have a second Ascari NC-6/NINCO ProRace parts
the Spirit has better acceleration, the NC-6 has higher RPMs
the NSR parts are smoother and quieter
so - tough choice .. but i always drive the Spirit powered car
