  • Anyone running the Scalextric Monte Carlo's on wood track?

We have one of these cars and are considering running an IROC race with 3 cars on 2 routed, non magnetic braid in the Buffalo area.
What mods have you made to make then to make them good runners. All our cars race on Sper Tires silicone.
    Thanks !

I have not had a chance to try one of those cars. When we run IROC cars they stay with their lanes and only the drivers rotate, so the cars themselves do not need to have equal performance. In a few cases we have used cars that have been tuned so that they can do equal lap times. The cars should at least be fairly easy to drive. Some thin lead sheet on the bottom of the cars would be helpful as would some body float. The guide flags on Scalextric cars tend to be shallow so that they can be run on the older "Classic" type track, you might consider upgrading to a deeper aftermarket guide flag.

TY Rich D. And yes....each car will have a dedicated lane.

Hi Bobby. I am looking at getting one of these Montes. There are Super tires that fit? Product number? Do they run near what say the COTs do? I doubt we will run a class as we have almost too many now.

Possibly a Super Tires 1405R will fit. What is the OD of the stock tire? The 1405s are 0.824 inches. You might also contact Super Tires directly.

We run them in our V8 class against other Nascars and Scalex Aussie V8's on an 8 lane commercial track. They are proving to be the cars to beat so well done Scalextric on making such a quick car.

We run them right out of the box here at Slotrax on our wooden track and they run amazing stock tires and all, super fun to race.
