  • Chrome Plating ?

    Hi Guys
I just got a T-Jet Indy car the other day and a lot of the chrome plating is coming off . Does anyone how to get the rest of the plating off without damaging the body itself? The only reason I want to do this is because the car is Olive Green.
    Thanks Stan

    Chrome plating removale

If the parts are off the car you can soak them in bleach

Laundry/cleaning type cloudy ammonia also works. Drop the parts into a small container and pour a little over the top. Slosh the ammonia back & forth and the chrome will vanish faster than you can believe. Rinse well when done. Keep us posted please.

        Cheers,
        Michael.

          Ok Michal
I got the car done and I am wondering if the chrome plated cars are not factory seconds. The reason I say this is because before I took the chrome off some of the green looked dirty. Well when I got all the chrome off the whole car has brown areas like it was over done in the mold like the plastic might have been to hot and burnt. Other than that the car turned out great its nice and shinny
