Highlights from Scalextric's showing at the Toy Fair.

Click here to see more images in the Scalextric Gallery. Keep in mind that this is only the beginning of our coverage. There are many more pics to come.

Please keep in mind that many of these are pre-production.

    Ferrari 375
The one that started it all for Scalextric.

    Ferrari 430
    Will make Gordo happy

    Cooper Mini
Alan will have tons of these. I see that they are left hand drive. But, are they front wheel drive????

    Ford Focus WRC

    Range Rover
    Hmmmm...this will be interesting.

    Dakar, here we come ...

I like that Mini - the shape looks exactly right. Range Rover is an interesting choice - a competitor for the NINCO Panjero?

Hmmm Range Rover... and isn't another company doing a Hummer? Has this hobby gone to the Yuppies?

But will the 375 have that new slim-line Warp capable motor in it?

LS, any info on the slower motor? can't quite get any REAL specs from what I've read thus far.

          Thanks

A real Mini! hope that motor is in the 14-16k territory

Motor specs are unknown to me at this time. I'll put it to Alan though.

The Drift version of the Range Rover holds the road rather well.

            Check out the video

LS, looking at a close up of the motor, I think I read 15,000 rpm, which would put it in NC-1 territory, very nice, of course, I wouldn't put too much confidence in my eyes, and will wait for confirmation from Alan. I hope he's having a good time, and not just work, work, work!!!

I tried to read that as well. I even blew it up in Photoshop to no avail.

Here some more of the upcoming Ferraris and McLarens F1 cars. I have to say that the level of detail is very impressive.

I wonder how they're handling the 'Marlboro Issue' on the M23?

Or are they the Egyptian Sailor? In de Nile....

Methinks Maurizio could give Scaley a bit of advice....

                  Cheers, Tony.

There was a time when these stout vehicles were actually competing in grueling off road and raid events. Perhaps scalextric whould have modeled those versions for us race fans. Don't see the need for the Yuppie versions. But what do I know? I am not a marketing specialist!

The Range Rover and H2 are the poser cousins of the Defender and HUMV (or H1). To my knowledge neither of them have competed in any off road racing.

I'm a fan of the offroad trucks so I don't really get these choices except to concede these are aimed at the tuner crowd rather than folks like me. Look for big spinner rims and low profile tires on both of these...

I'm sure someones gonna buy them but I doubt it will be me.

Slim picking for us off road fans. At least Ninco still loves us. How about a Mercedes Unomog or Tatra support truck. That would knock my socks off.

Panzerpilot we are the minority. I too would like to see the big T4 trucks in 1/32. I suspect that getting two to fit side by side on a track and sorting out the top heavyness also back production. I'm planning to build my own from a Fly Truck. I'll post it if it all worlks out...

Hay what about the CORR off road series?! Those would be fun!

Maybe an appetiser for the Ninco Hummer - "race to the ugliest 4WD skies"
