Making brass chassis

    The springs are carried on angle brackets soldered to the inside of the Scuttler axle bracket arms. Unfortunately the brackets don't show in the photos.

    I have a six-volt Tyco inline that goes like an NC-1, but with higher RPM and less brakes. It's OK geared 4:1. The Scuttler seems faster, but believe it or not, the chassis in the photos never received a body as other projects took over, so I can't say how fast it is.

        Bob, I think your Scuttler is actually the 6volt Avenger!

        Anyway, I have been doing plate chassis since 63, and always .032 or thicker. Thick, weight, downforce is downforce!

        I usually "hang" the axles in Tube carriers soldered to "L" arm mounts on the plate.
