  • Fly chevron B19...GVSCC proxy

This has been built for the upcoming GVSCC Targa 2 proxy, that will be held on various British Columbia tracks this fall.

The rules for this class require a body style that ran in the Targa Florio race up until 1972..........so, as I entered a Porsche 908 last year, the little Chevron I had sitting on the shelf, gets to play this year. The body is a Fly, with just a few minor mods, and it sits on a scratchbuilt chassis..urethane tires,BWA wheels, and Piranha power.

For anyone not familiar with this proxy series, if you are interested, you can follow it in the club section on this forum.

    Cheers
    Chris Walker

Your cars are always first class, Chris. Now you have put your magic into one of my favorite cars, the Chevron. A garage builder, Derek Bennett raced toe-to-toe with the mighty Ferraris. Good luck in the proxy with this car. I hope you can score some points for the "little guy".

Beautiful. The orange and brown is so period, reminds me of my parents' couch. Tiny body with short overhangs, looks like a goer.

Also want to say thanks to the Moderators for moving the Vintage & Scratchbuilding thread up from the bottom. Not saying that anyone should or shouldn't be on the bottom...but lots of artistry here...

Oh boy, being PC is difficult.

                  You know what I mean.
                  :-)

Yes, beautiful work and an inspiration for someone learning to build. Chris's willingness to share his designs and offer help is a great resource on this forum.

Now that's its getting cold I can find some time to get back to building.

                      Thanks Chris.
