  • The Actual Trans Am Series Results

Round 1 of the Trans Am series Well after
a 5 week hiatus the PSSRA got back into action . Eleven racers showed
up for what was to end up a sad night in the PSSRA 's history . It was our
last race at the Fantasy Worlds Warehouse Track . A sad Night indeed . We
hope to see it somewhere in the near future . I'd like to thank Dave for all
his help in supporting the club with the graces availability of the track for
our Wednesday Night races . You've always gone far and beyond the call of
    duty . Thanks again .

    Round 2 scalyextric , pioneer trans/am

ROUND 2 TRANS/AM SERIES Back to
Patlanta for the second round of the Scalextric , Pioneer Trans/ Am
Series . We had 11 Racers show up for the evenings activities . In
the IROC race we ran my almost vintage SCX Audi 1/2 Quattro's .
We had to crank up the voltage a bit to get em to move , but we
still had some good close races . Brett showed us the way with
four heats of steady running .

In the series race it was more of the same . Great side by side
racing . Once again it was all about keeping steady and staying
in the slot . ( Which I failed at miserably ) Mr. Flippant definitely
found the grove and I believe scored his first series win . Great
job Greg . With Brett sorting out his Camaro ( Big Red ) nipping
    at his heals .

One other piece of great news is Roger was able to purchase the
Fantasy World Track and is going to provide an awesome venue
    for future races .

Thanks for posting the results, Pat.
I think I did have another 1st place in a series race at some point in the past, but I don't remember when. Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a while!

        Greg ,
That was closer than an inch . In fact if it was in inches ,you
would have lost . Hurray for bonus points . I can't remember
when you won before either but my memories been messing
with me lately . GREAT JOB

            ROUND 3 Scalextric , Pioneer Trans/Am

            ROUND 3 TRANS/AM " GREGADEGA "
7 racers made their way to GREGADEGA for a night of under the light
(singular) racing action . In the IROC Race We ran Greg's MRRC Cars
the Cheetah , Chaparral , King Cobra and Kellison . They really brought
a hole new meaning to magnet racing . With 150 Grams of downforce
on a 64 gram car 4.3 second laps were not that rare . Needless to say
there was plenty of fast and furious racing . The Great One is really
finding his zone with his second victory in as many races . Great job
Brett . Going from those sticky little machines to the bigger magnet-less
Trans / am cars didn't seem to be to much of a challenge , not as much
as the PC gremlins that held us at bay for about 15 minutes . After
3 tries Hazard or Vic got things sorted out and it was off to the races .
Some of the closest racing of the year with most every one getting a heat
victory . After a few late offs Vic and Brett separated themselves from the
rest of the field . Vic walks away with the win and for the second week in
a row Brett falls victim to those darn bonus points . When your cars
            lack'in stop atack'in

              ROUND 4 TRANS/AM

Nine racers showed to race Tonys Racers for IROC. They looked great, and where smooth and even enough, but some where missing a few cylinders.Either way a couple of outs and you where at the bottom of the list. Trans Am had some intense racing, and a bunch of cars going over the guard rail or onto their lids. I think that Brett guys been working on his race car instead of the ones he's suppose to be wrenching on, that car gets better and better each outing. Vic stole the podium in both IROC and Trans Am and after that everybody else was just the first loser.

                Round 5 Trans-Am Race 3/7

                ROUND 5 TRANS-AM

We had one newbie with a total of eleven racers turn up for the evening of racing. The IROC races were run first and featured Slot.it Porsche 956's that I've used in prior enduros. They are super smooth and provided some close racing. Then the Trans-Am cars took the track for the feature race with plenty of crashes courtesy of excellent grip and high center of gravity cars with lots of rollovers. The wrecking crew plowed thru home made popcorn, cookies and cinnamon rolls of course washed down with a variety of Samuel Adams brews...

Next race in Lake City at Red Devil Speedway.

                See you there...

                  Thank-you!

I just wanted to say a quick thank-you to everyone who made me feel welcome last night despite my lack of talent. It's always a bit intimidating joining a group of people who have been friends for awhile and you made me feel like one of them.

Special thanks to Sweendog for his "arrive and drive" Camaro fleet. A new set of urethane's went missing for my car and he immediately offered up one of his cars to a guy he didnt even know. It was very much appreciated.

                  See you guys soon!

Glad you had fun last night, don't be too hard on yourself driving a track you haven't see with a car you haven't run.

Thanks for coming out to race with us. Hope you can make more of them.
