          very likely

Depending on the final dates, I'm likely. Our club's series gets started in October but those dates haven't been finalized yet, either.

I'd only be running the Manufacturer Challenge and Slot It classes.

East coast Plastic Track National Final at Race Wear.

The 6th Annual National Final is in New Jersey Sept 7th -9th. However many race on plastic track so I have decided to also hold a National Final for those track systems.

Race Wear will be the first track to hold the Plastic Track portion of the National Finals.

So the race coming up at Race Wear will be the 6th Annual ( Plastic Track ) National Final.

We will hold the same races as the Wood Track Final, Sprints and Endurance. Plus subject to entry a Megane Sprint ( IROC ) and BRM and Scaleauto 1/24 scale Sprints.

I spoke with Ricky yesterday and it is planned to be October 18th - 21st.

Once we have finalised everything we will post this up on the Front-page of SCI and in the News section.

                October race

                Hi Alan and Ricky,
I plan to be there for the October races. Try to confirm the date so that I can ask for time off from work. Also, I assume we will run by the same rules as in NJ. I noticed that Ricky has the 2011 rules for which are very different than the 2012 rules. Which year are we going by for

                • #9
The dates for this race will be Oct. 18, 19, 20, & 21. All the races will be run using the 2012 rules.
A final schedule for each race will be set soon.

                  • #10
Make sure you are looking at the correct version of the Rules.

           Group C 2012

Rule on tires mentions SC2007 this is not the tire we would normally spec for Group C that is SC-2009.

                    Scaleracing Manufacturers Challenge 2012

                    BRM Challenge 2012

                    Scaleauto 1/24th 2012

These are the latest rules with amendments as needed.

Please note when editing the rules for Group C I wrote as a potential wheel/tire SC-2007, this is not correct we use SC-2009 for Group C. SC-2007 is the tire for the Manufacturers Challenge.

In Group C it is not required to have rear inserts with the Scaleauto wheels, same in Manufacturers Challenge.

BRM and Scaleauto 1/24th scale must have wheel inserts.

UPDATE Sept 21st 2012, BRM will run without inserts as the wheels we are using will not take the insert. Scaleauto will run with insert.
(on the rear) and Manufacturers Challenge without inserts also.
To help keep this Final running on time we will not be using hand out motors and tires rather you will supply your car into tech with the correct motor ( inc gear ratio in BRM and Scaleauto ) and tires. Please see announcement regarding this change.

Hopefully this will allow the Event to run smoothly and on time.

                      Hi Alan,
So it sounds like we will use SC-2009 foam tires for the race, not the rubber tires?
Also, I'm confused about if this is inline only? It says we need to use an inline pod but mentions under chassis that you can use an anglewinder chassis? Please clarify.~Ron

                      • #12
You will be using Scaleauto tires for every Class.

                        On the Group C rules:

has made in line only chassis as well as chassis that are capable of being in line or angle-winder both are allowed in the in line configuration only in Group C. Either standard or 1/2 off set pods are allowed as the latest cars come that way ( 1/2 off set )

Now in the Manufacturers Challenge any chassis is allowed, from the said Manufacturer, But cars have to run in the configuration they were released in. So a Radical for example cannot be angle-winder this may change next year.

can run a McLaren angle winder or in-line as they have been sold both ways RAW Cars are angle winder other releases till the Lola were in-line.

                          Scale racing plastic track nationals

Details for this event are almost finalized and should be up in the News and Reviews in the next day or so. If you have any questions, please ask.

At first glance it may appear expensive but read what you will be getting. 9 Races, all with trophies and a overall winner trophy for the event. We will also have food available for the event.

For out of townees, there is a Days inn about 5 miles away that everyone says is reasonable and several have stayed there in the past. The phone number is 410-761-8300. The web says rates starting at 74.99 but call, they have other deals as well. There is a Hampton Inn across the street as well. The number is 410-761-7666 and rates are a little more. There are also hotels around the airport and Arundel Mills, about 15 minutes away. We could make arrangements for transportation to these 2 if needed.

Hope to see you at the races.

As many of you already know, Ian will not be at this event so you all have a chance to race for 1st instead of 2nd place this year. This will be our 1st major event without Ian.

For those that do not know, Ian has joined the Marines and got called to boot camp in Florida earlier than originally told. We wish him well there and all at Race-Wear are proud of this young man. He has been racing here with his dad since he was about 12, Has worked here and always helps with customers if we are busy.

                            Good luck and God Bless

Scaleracing National Final 2012 for plastic tracks.

Scaleracing (Plastic Track) National Finals 2012

                              October 18, 19, 20, 21, 2012

                              7900 Ritchie Hwy.

                              Glen Burnie, MD. 21061

To allow a schedule to be maintained and help to reduce the cost, it has been decided to allow everyone to use their own motor and tires. The tires must look good and show all original markings to identify them as the spec tire. If they are not, you will be asked to purchase and change them. In most classes spec gear and motor will also be used. They will be announced in each category below. If the motor appears to be tampered with, you will be asked to purchase and change the motor and re-present to tech. If you are not sure, please ask Alan prior to tech. If he approves it, then he will mark it and allow it.

The top 5 cars in each class will be impounded and the top 3 dyno'd to determine if the engine was tampered with. If it falls outside of the announced (on race day) range, you will be disqualified.

With this many races, it is important to stay on schedule. Please be prepared and on time for each event. There will be no refunds if you fail to be on time or fail tech and cannot be ready on time. Alan will be available on Thursday and Friday during the day to help you with your cars if needed. Please do not wait until Tech as this will only delay the races.

The computer scoring will be final. Laps will not be added for going under on the wrong lane.

Any and all repairs are to be done at the pit table.

Open practice on Thursday and Friday will be $10.00 per person/per day. This will be waived if you are racing all the races on that day.

                              Food will be provided.

                              There will be trophies.
