          Note:
Much work was done, in April 2011, on improving electrical connectivity between track
pieces in various areas of the track.
Also, beginning 4/18/11, Classic Super Tires are allowed in all classes.
For track records before electrical connectivity improvements, and the (increased) use of
Super Tires, see post #121 (on page 9) of this thread.

Nick, the owner of Super Tires, is donating prize money, for the month of November.
Nick commented that much of the on track development of the various lines of Super Tires
happened at Ace Hobby. Thanks Nick!

For the first 3 Mondays in November, Super Tires will award a $10 store credit certificate to:
The driver with the most laps (cumulative) over the 3 races that Monday.
            And.
The driver with the fastest lap time on the "Red" lane, for the night.

            Tonight's winners are:
            Most laps, Russ (185.70).
Fastest lap on red, C-Bill (11.246 seconds).

The last Monday of November, the certificates will be awarded differently.
Once I clarify with Ron, I will post the 4th Monday prize structure.

Rules for a fifth no magnet class, NASCAR, are being finalized, and the NASCARs will
probably start running in early December. Look for the NASCAR rules soon, online,
and in the Ace Hobby store.

Next Monday, 11/14, is an even numbered day of the month, so the third race will be GT.

Thanks to Ron, at Ace Hobby, for the track time. Thanks to the drivers who came.

                4) Wheels and tires...You can run the stock front wheels or any 15x8mm after market wheels and any front tires. And any 17x8 mm or 17x10 mm after market wheels on the rear. The 1407 super tires are the only size tire allowed for the rear.
                5) All cars will weigh at least 100 grams...
                6) Guides and guide holders may be replaced to accept the Slot-it universal guides for those that wish to run them.
                7) Chassis may be trimmed to allow for better body float.
                8) The bodies may not be altered other than repainting. No lowering of bodies or opening wheel wells

Note: In testing for the class we have found that the SCX Pro NASCAR is a good deal faster than the Scaley or standard SCX NASCAR’s.
So we will run the SCX “Pro” NASCAR’s for a few weeks and make changes if needed. If we find that the SCX Pro NASCAR’s are too fast for the class they will be banned from racing.

As in any other class of racing at Ace Hobby, the goal is to have close, competitive
                racing, and to have fun.
The above rules may need to be changed as time goes on, to meet the above goal.

Monday night racing of the new NASCAR class will begin in December, 2011.

A copy of these rules is available at Ace Hobby.

                Tom

at least 100 gms. (For details of the rules, see earlier postings in this thread,
or the rule sheet at Ace Hobby.)

A nice array of cars were on the grid, about equally divided between all 3 kinds of cars.
Thanks to Chris and Al, for lending cars to other racers.

With only some test times to go on, no body knew what to expect with these cars.
Turned out to be less "offs" due to the tail end swing of the car in the next lane (or two)
than was anticipated. OR, the men were all on their best behavior tonight.

The race was reasonably fast (100 gm cars) and close. Nice job, car builders!
Ron finished second to Chris by just .30 lap. Congratulations Chris.
The top 3 finishers were all within .65 lap of one another.

1.Chris, 58.25 laps The top 3 finishers will all set the lap record for this new class.
                          2.Ron, 57.95
                          3.Tom, 57.60

                          8. Steve, 19.00 DNF, motor coming out of mounts.

                          fast laps:
                          yellow, Chris 11.931
                          black, Al 12.142
                          white, Ron 12.087
                          red, Al 12.277

Thanks to Ron, at Ace Hobby, for the track time. Thanks to the drivers who came.

Well, since he had a second, & 2 third place finishes tonight, Ron did indeed, kick some
                          butts!

Next monday, 12/12, is an even numbered day of the month, and with the new class
rotation, the cars raced will be: DP, GT, & Group C2.

Ace Hobby is the place for 1/32 scale racing!

7 drivers showed up, enabling us to run "crash and burn" races, (1 lap lost for every 3 offs, cumulative in each class).

Ron was busy tending to the hobby shop, so there was not much time for pre-race bold talk.

                            DP

                            It was a mixed field of Dallara's & Riley's.

It was a mixed field of Group C2 cars, with several people driving Porsche 956's.
Roger drove his brand new Jaguar. Wonder how this latest Cat, with the new chassis,
pod, and rear wheels/tires will do?

Five drivers showed up, enabling us to run "crash and burn" racing (1 lap lost, for every
3 offs, cumulative). Thanks, Stan, for your help on the button for the last race.

Some pre-race chatter, mostly someone reminding us who won the Group C2 race
                              last week.

Had some fun during practice with Monogram NASCARS. Seems once the body gets
a little "rock", some weight may be able to be removed, reducing the lap times a little.

This was the second NASCAR race, in the newly established class at Ace Hobby.
The builder / drivers are tuning their rides, as more is learned about this class.

The field was mixed, with Scalextric and SCX cars.

It was a fast, close race. Tom finished second to Chris by about 3 feet.
Congratulations Chris. The top 3 finishers were all within .40 lap of one another,
and all 3 are now on the lap record list for this (new) class.
Al had gear problems with his Dodge SCX.

Practice times were just "so-so", with the cold track; and improved with use, as is the
                                usual case.

Yellow Dog put down some really good practice laps with his Monogram NASCAR.
Back to the pits for the rest of us.

Mark was here from South Carolina, welcome.

                                Happy New Year to all!
