Thanks to Steve for Teching the cars and to Ron for the track and time.

Marsh was new to Ace Hobby tonight and to no magnet racing. Being new to it
he did a bangup job. That is not derogatory to his racing because he did very
good for the first time. Thanks to his wife for running the computer.

    Good Times!!!

There was, however, a little paint swapping during several races between
Gill and Steve... And also some good racing between them. But that's racing.

Did you see the times that Ron had?

    That's it.

    Max

Thanks to Ron for the track and the time. Thanks to whoever it was that teched the cars and setup the computer. I'm sorry, I think it was Steve, but I am not sure.

Thanks to Martha for keeping the clock running and keeping the guys racing instead of talking.

Marsh keep up the good racing. Each week is an increase in number of laps and times.

I would like to point out one item - in the GT race I showed a fast lap of 8.416 on the yellow lane.
And you can see above I reported that Ron had the fast lap at a time of 9.384. Now I have never said anything about anyone else showing any fast lap times. But, just this once, I show having the fast lap time on yellow and several people point out that there must have been a glitch in the computer and that I could never have gone that fast.

            WHY, WHY, WHY?????

Just because I have never driven that fast in the past, maybe just maybe, this was the night I was really on and you all just failed to recognize my fantasticallyist most wonderfullest performance.

But, I will return, and continue to try and impress a great bunch of guys.

            Max Out!!!!!

Well the results are finally done. Just to let you know this is the third time I have typed up this information, but the first time I have really submitted it. For some reason I have hit a button that made it disappear completely twice. Just fat fingers probably.

Thanks to Ron for use of the track and the time.

Thanks to Marsha for running the computer.

Thanks to those that did the teching and setting up the computer.

Paul didn't show up tonight, he had a party at home.
At least that is what Russ said.
The food at Paul's must have been really good for him to pass up wings, pizza and candy.

Gill was having problems with his car tonight and didn't live up to his usual quality racing.

Brian also had problems with his car or controller or walls.

Thanks to Marsh for hanging around and marshalling the last race.

Hope Ron is having fun and all his money isn't gone yet.

                Bye for now,

                Max

                • Monday night racing, 10/6/14

No race report for 10/6. Ron was on vacation, and about half of the usual gang came.
Had fun during practice. The consensus was not to race "crash & burn", so it was an early night.

Next Monday is an odd numbered day of the month, so the classes will be DP, GT, & NASCAR.

                    Red: 9.588

As you can see we did not race the LMP’s tonight.

As you can see Steve only completed one heat in the GRP-C’s tonight and then Larry who had stopped in completed the remaining heats for him. The reason was that when the pizza and wings arrived we jumped right in and started eating. Steve also started eating, but after a couple of bites he spent an hour or more in the bathroom. It seems he sometimes has a problem with swallowing and tonight was one of the times.

We thought about the hospital but he said no.

Thanks for Troy teching the cars, to Gill for updating the computer, to Marsha for running the computer, also to Ron for the track, the shop and the time.

Also you can see Paul came tonight and was there for the first race and the pizza and wings but as you also know he only has a blue and a green car or a black and a red car or purple and yellow car or..............

For those that missed racing tonight I must let you know that for those of us that were there it was the most fun we’ve had in a long time. Not that anytime isn’t fun, but tonight was a deep down - belly laugh - tears in your eyes - evening. I am truly sorry you missed it.

It was almost 9 pm when we finished the second race and we all decided that we should call it a night. Actually we thought Ron should catch up on his sleep. You know vacation and jet lag and the pain of all that money he left in Las Vegas.

                    See you next Friday.

                    Y’all come now, ya hear!!!

Thanks to Martha for running the computer.

Thanks to Ron for the track time.

Thanks to those that teched the cars and set up the computer.

I did note one incident with the GT race and that had to do with Brian. Now as we all know, sometimes when he marshalls a race his reaction time is a little slow in getting to the car. But why was he tossing Russ' car on the floor and then hiding it in a box under the table claiming the car had disappeared. I mean I didn’t even know he had done this and the first thing I saw was Brian kneeling on the floor and waving to the rest of us. I thought - “Oh my God he’s drowning!” - but then I remembered there is no water. That was when Martha stopped the heat and I found out what Brian had done to Russ’ car. Then I heard Russ crying – “Why, why, why Brian. I thought you liked me.”

You know Russ always a drama queen.

Well that was the racing for the evening.

Al you will want to check the adjustments I made to the lap records for Friday racing.

                        See you all on Monday!

                            • Challenge Races

                              Hi All,
The following is an email I sent out today. I amtrying to organize challenge races between Ace Hobby and Niagara Hobby. The goal is to have fun, share experiences and try something different. One race would be he held at Ace and the other at Niagara. Ron helped me draw up the rules for the Ace race. The rest is in the email. I am looking for suggest for suggestions.

                              Hi Kevin
I haven't been racing too much because I have been unwell.
I have noticed everytime I go to Niagara Hobby, there is a lot of interest in racing at Ace hobby. I am always asked a lot of questions. I think people would like to try it at least. That brings me to the question of a challenge.
I have discussed this with some of the regulars at Ace as well as Ron the owner. Here is what I propose:
We have a couple of challenge races one at Ace Hobby and one at Niagara Hobby. The one at Ace with our rules and cars and one at Niagara with your rules and selection cars.
You would pick the class of cars with your rules i.e. magnets, modifications, tires etc. for the race at Niagara Hobby. We would pick the class of cars and our rules.for the race at Ace.
I think it would be fun and try to bring groups together. Perhaps you can discuss it with others at Niagara and get back to me. You can have others contact me as well if there are any questions.
Here is what class we would like to race at Ace for our half of the challenge:
                              Slot.it C class cars only
examples of these cars Porsche 956 or 962, Lancia
                              Toyota 88C and Sauber-Mercedes C9
"stock out of the box" cars with the following mods only
No magnets, the stock magnet also removed.
No weight can be added to the cars or chassis.
You can change wheels and tires. They can be trued and glued.
Only the crown gear can be changed, no changing the pinion gear. The stock pinion in these cars have 9 teeth.
Only the stock orange end bell motor is allowed. It is a 21500 rpm motor.
Tires can be changed to any silicone tires.
Chassis cannot be modified for example they cannot be bent or lowered.

To be fair all cars would be teched by someone from Ace and a representative from Niagara Hobby.

Let me know what you and others think. We are open to suggestions. I really would like to make this work.
I hope to see you soon.
                              Denny Toffolo

ANY MOTOR THAT SHOWS SIGNS OF BEING OPENED IS BANNED.
Motors may use any lead wire. Motors may be glued to the pod. Motors must be for the pod used. Motors may be fixed to pods with screws if screw holes are present in stock form. Only the Slot-It 9t pinion may be used. They may be soldered, glued or pressed on.
