You should not be using any thing except water to clean your tires at the track.

Didn't know lighter fluid or alcohol was banned. But are cleaned at my box and dried before I put the car back onto the track. I didn't get the memo about using water only!

Alcohol was banned after we added the wood aprons to protect the paint and allow a build up of traction. Alcohol is not good for silicone tires and as long as no one over oils their car and makes a mess on the track, we shouldn't need to clean tires with lighter fluid. If we all use water we won't be changing the level of traction for the racers that use the lane next.

Hey Dan. Miss seeing you up North.

Are you not using a Tyre Buddy or two for tire cleaning? Yes, I know you use a dirty sock.

I would like to apologize to everyone for using alcohol and lighter fluid to clean my tires. I won't use alcohol, lighter fluid, tape or anything but water from this point on.

No need to apologize Gary. You wern't racing much when Ron and I asked everybody to use water only for tire cleaning.

                    Race results, 12/20/10

Something finally got in the way of racing - FOOD!
Before racing began, we all enjoyed pizza & wings (courtesy of Ron).
Thanks Ron! The grilled BBQ wings were especially tasty.

Thomas joined us from Niagara-on-the-Lake - welcome!
MD Racing joined us after too long of a break, welcome back Jay!
Roger came, from way past Rochester.
Team Big Tree Speedway was unable to attend. (more food for us - ha!)

There were 9 drivers, and with Billy's help on the button (thanks Billy!),
                    we had fully marshalled races.

                    DP

In a close finish, typical for the DP cars, the top 3 were within .80 lap of one
                    another. Congratulations Yellow Dog!

                    1.Yellow Dog, 58.05 laps
                    2.Roger 57.50
                    3.Al, 57.25
                    4.Tom, 56.55
                    5.Steve, 55.40
                    6.B.H.R., 54.95
                    7.Thomas, 54.50
                    8.MD Racing, 53.70
                    9.Bill, 46.25

                    fast laps:
                    yellow, Yellow Dog 12.122 seconds
                    black, Al 11.941
                    white, Yellow Dog 11.948
                    red, Al, 12.131

                    Can Am

Three Fly cars were in, surrounded by six Slot-It's. The Ferrari 312 was popular, with
3 of them entered. Steve's Chaparral has a broken chassis, so he drove his Alfa.
How would Al's lone Chaparral do vs. the rest of the field?
Quite well, as he won by 1.45 laps over the nearest competitor - congratulations Al!
The rest of the field was pretty spread out.

                    1.Al, 58.95 laps
                    2.Tom, 57.50
                    3.Steve, 56.90
                    4.Yellow Dog, 56.25
                    5.B.H.R., 54.90
                    6.Thomas, 53.45
                    7.Roger, 52.70
                    8.MD Racing, 50.75
                    9.Bill, 49.15

                    fast laps:
yellow, 11.969 seconds All by Al !
                    black, 11.853
                    white, 11.791
                    red, 12.057

                    GT

The eight person Slot-It GT field had 4 McClaren's, 2 Ferrari F40's, and 2 Nissan (long tails).
In a close finish, where the top 4 were separated by 1.0 lap, the Nissan's of Roger and Tom
barely held off Yellow Dog's McClaren & Al's Ferrari F40. Congratulations Roger!

                    1.Roger, 58.35 laps
                    2.Tom, 57.90

                    6.Thomas, 55.30
                    7.Steve, 55.25
                    8.B.H.R., 53.55

                    fast laps:
                    yellow, Al 11.762
                    black, Roger 11.932
                    white, Roger 11.792
                    red, Al 11.856

Thanks to all who came to race. Thanks to Ron for the track time!
A good time was had by all!

Next Monday is an odd numbered day of the month (12/27), so the third race will
                    be Slot-It Group C2 cars.

                    Merry Christmas!

                    Tom

Tom, do you know difference between Alfa & Ferrari?

                      Tom,
I believe I raced my Alfa 33/3 in the Can-Am, having sold my Ferrari 312 this last Summer.

                        Sorry Steve

They are (mostly) all red to me.
I (obviously) don't have your expertise in race car identification.

Twelve of the fifteen Monday night racers stayed for the C2 race. After a very hard fought out race, the first four cars ended up finishing on the same straight! Geo crossed the line to start his 59th lap, Yellowdog just short of the line, Russ just a foot behind with Al snapping at his rear tires. What a race

                                Geo, 59.05
                                YD, 58.95

                                Gary, 57.05
