Matt from Changing Gearz came over this afternoon and ran the qualification for the 12th Round of the CanAm series.

The quali was run at 10V. Each car had 10 warm-up laps to get Matt used to the car and to get the controller dialed in to the car. This was followed by 10 laps to get a fast lap time. The fastest lap times were used to determine the finishing order for the qualification.

Here are the results, by class:

      GTU

      1. #26 - 5.953
      2. #11 - 6.044
      3. #19 - 6.078
      4. #2 - 6.265
      5. #16 - 6.383
      6. #12 - 6.521
      7. #35 - 7.377

      GT

      1. #511 - 5.712
      2. #13 - 5.822
      3. #101 - 5.855
      4. #311 - 5.914
      5. #42 - 6.056
      6. #4 - 6.128
      7. #155 - 6.293
      8. #6 - 6.400
      9. #89 - 6.461
      10. #90 - 6.473

      P

      1. #70 - 5.539
      2. #48 - 5.672
      3. #40 - 5.710
      4. #32 - 5.736
      5. #30 - 5.741
      6. #1 - 5.820
      7. #33 - 5.848
      8. #10 - 5.878
      9. #6 - 5.882
      10. #3 - 6.132
      11. #66 - 6.139
      12. #411 - 6.184
      13. #9 - 6.276

      That's how they ran today.

Congrats to 34ever1, mongo the monster and smokeio for their class TQs and to smokeio, again, for his overall TQ.

Tomorrow's race will be run, by class in reverse qualifying order. We have Dickie, Matt and Jeff as drivers. Based on the qualification results, I think that there will be a lot of close racing.

Results, pics and some videos of the action tomorrow.

      Good luck to eveyone!

I had a lot of fun running these cars - again (ran them at the last race).

Allan's track has a good combo of straights and good technical sections. A good handling car is really what's needed here.

Rob, while I won't spill the beans about who finished where, I will say your car provided a great moment that we had to stop racing cuz we were laughing so much.
Allan took a pic of the aftermath, so hopefully he'll share that with you all...

We had a lot of fun racing these cars today. Once again, some of the smaller motored cars did very well in the overall standings.

We ran 3 minute heats. Each driver stayed in his lane for the entire race so all of the cars were run by the same racers. The voltage was set at 10V.

We ran the race by class; starting with the slower cars from the quali run and moving to the faster cars; then the next class, etc., run in the same reverse quali order.

Here's the field just before the start of today's race; left to right, bottom to top in reverse quali order:

And here are your racers - Jeff (dge467) in the blue lane, Matt (changing gearz) in the white lane and Dickie (nhdungeonracer) in the red lane:

When the smoke cleared, here's where it ended up:

Place / Car Number / Total Laps / Fastest Lap Tiebreaker (if needed)

                  1. #70 - 91.3
                  2. #48 - 91.1
                  3. #1 - 90.6
                  4. #40 - 89.7
                  5. #32 - 88.5
                  6. #13 - 88.4
                  7. #511 - 88.3 (5.758)
                  8. #101 - 88.3 (5.797)
                  9. #6t - 87.8
                  10. #19 - 86.7
                  11. #4 - 86.6
                  12. #30 - 86.4
                  13. #10 - 86.3 (5.850)
                  14. #42 - 86.3 (5.935)
                  15. #26 - 85.6
                  16. #11 - 85.5
                  17. #33 - 85.4 (5.907)
                  18. #66 - 85.4 (6.036)
                  19. #3 - 84.7
                  20. #311 - 84.2
                  21. #2 - 84.1
                  22. #9 - 82.8
                  23. #411 - 82.5
                  24. #16 - 81.7
                  25. #155 - 80.5
                  26. #6 - 80.1
                  27. #90 - 79.4
                  28. #89 - 79.2
                  29. #12 - 78.7
                  30. #35 - 66.1

The # 87 broke off a guide-end motor wire at the end of yesterday's quali run. The wire was reattached before the start of today's race.

And............we had a new River Run track record set today - by Smokeio - 5.520 sec. driven by Matt in the white (middle) lane. There must be a 5.4 sec car out there somewhere............we just have to find it.

And Rob, you probably would have had it all wrapped up today if it hadn't been for an onerous shunt from the #70 car.................yup - the pic tells it all, he had an accomplice in the incident - rumor has it that it was someone driving an A-H; Austin by name. By the time we got done pulling the foam rubber out of the #48 car's grill, the race was over.....................!

I'll leave it to Christian to post up the official results of this round and the final standings.

Congratulations to the podium finishers in today's race - and to everyone who ran in the series. It was a truly great group of cars to drive and a lot of fun!

I'll be mailing your cars back to you the week of October 31st, so look for them, along with some goodies and prizes towards the end of the first week in November.

Thanks also to the team who ran the CanAm proxy this year: Jim (Zoom Beedo); Dale (Aloha), Christian (cgingras) and Mike (smokeio).

                              30. #35 - 66.1 Oh thats 30 not 3rd

As you can see in the photo, Dickie had to drive my Austin Healey 3000 - #35 in the P Class with the to fastest cars, it was to fast and handle to well for the GTU class
Even ahead of that #40 before the deslot that put me into last place

Just looking at it you can see how fast it is.

                              Just for fun LOL
