  • Group 5 Proxy - Expression of Interest 2020 edition & List of Eligible Cars

They say don't fix something that ain't broke......but maybe a bit of tuning from time to time will keep things fresh.

Can you perhaps post your thoughts on this idea below.

Change the cars (bodies) from Group 5 cars to Modern (after 2010) GT3 cars for next year....start 2020 with something slightly different?

The rules will remain the same, (rubber, any chassis, plastic body etc) and the cars will have to be on an approved list, but this will include cars like: (just a few off the top of my head)

NSR - Aston Martin, Audi R8, Corvette, BMW Z4, Porsche GT3
    ScaleAuto - R8, Corvette, Dodge Viper, Z4, Mercedes GT3
Scalextric - Bentley, McLaren, Mercedes, Maserati, Porsche, Aston Martin
    Sideways - Lamborghini

Be honest, won't hurt my feelings, but what are your thoughts?

Would be interesting if we continued being the worlds fastest proxy as GT3. These Group 5 cars have a wide footprint.

I'm in next year no matter what type of car it will be.

I did a post mortem on the car I sent last year. It drove badly in every race of the proxy and even from your 1st drive I knew something was wrong. It could do high 9's on my track before I sent it, when it came back it struggled to do 11's. I was so p*ssed off with it I put it on the shelf and left it there. Now that I've calmed down I tried to see what went wrong between posting it and you getting it.

Just before I sent it I glued the tyres on with superglue and it looks like the glue reacted with the rubber tyres to harden them Ė not what you want on a car entered in the worldís fastest proxy.

Itís back to doing 9ís and can only get better with another year of development.

                    Canít wait till next year!

                    Cheers

                    Paul

It doesn't matter which car you choose, Camber will enter a car based on a 15 year old steel chassis and still beat us.

And Radarek will show us how a car with an SCX chassis and Slot.it pod can lap faster than theoretically possible. I hate that guy.

Thanks Kevan - you are hired! (these are only 2010 and newer, correct?)

When I looked at the selection, I too thought that there are some really cool cars in this category, they look as if they can be made to run really well and fast, and I would love nothing more than kick some behind with a Bentley!

The only challenge would be to keep those huge wings on the car for a season!

^^^^^ And he's back ^^^^^^. You're just as hooked as the rest of us.......I LOVE it!!! I'm running one of 5 just not sure which one yet. While I'm contemplating my 320rebuild and a restoration of the G5 Mustang when it returns as we never know. Looking forward to the Gt3 Proxy and if it's a Porsche I run it may be Atlas Grey instead of silver.
