    I. Body Rules

    Helpful link http://www.historictransam.com/cars.html

    A. 1966 to 1972 that ran in the Trans-Am class as in Book by Dave Friedman “ The Pony Cars Wars”

    1) Bodies must be injection molded or resin cast, in 1/32 scale. No vacuum formed or blow molded bodies.

    2) Tires must be fully under the fenders. No tire may project beyond body work, as viewed from above, at maximum side travel of wheels.

    3) Bodies must be removable to allow inspection and photography prior to the first race, and to allow maintenance and repair during the race series.

    4) Driver figure is required, with representation of at least head, shoulders, and arms.

    5) Interior must include representation of dashboard top, as seen through windshield, and shelf under rear window , as appropriate to actual car. Vacuum formed interior pieces may be used.

    6) Clear window material must be present as on the actual car. Windows may be vacuum formed.

    7) Any paint, decals and markings may be used. Racing numbers are required. Both “fantasy liveries” and accurate reproductions of real cars are encouraged.

    8) Car owner and body screw adjustment information on car underside is encouraged.

II. Chassis rules: trying for close racing

    1) rear wheel drive only

    2) Underside of car chassis and body must clear track road surface (not rails), on level track, by 1.2 mm (0.047”) minimum. Gears may be lower, but cars may be excluded from racing if gears contact the track or rails, and track owner judges them a hazard to track or rails.

    3) Guide must be entirely under body, and not visible when viewed from above.

    4) No traction magnets are permitted.

    5) Chassis must be based on plastic RTR. Slot-it HRS, HRS2 and other ready to run chassis OK.

    6) Aftermarket gears may be used

    7) May reinforce chassis with any non-magnetic pieces or glue

    8) Piranha Motor only for GTO $7.99

    9) H&R Jack Rabbit Motor only for GTU $9.50

    10) Can not use, Slot.its coming out with a 3dp chassis for the Scaley 70 Camaro

So, it has to be a plastic chassis? We can't run a brass chassis or custom chassis in either GT0 or GTU. How about reinforcement that is not plastic for the GTO and GTU classes?

Spec motor - Piranha for GT and H&R Hawk for GTU is OK for me, but it's more limiting than it was in the past. Is there a reason for that?

The spec gearing really tightens everything down; too much for my taste. Most builders that I've met like to experiment to get their cars to perform as well as they can. If everything is totally apples to apples, then that takes some of the building fun out of it; at least it does for me. Others may see it differently.

Yes, Tring to make for closer racing. Car setup, tire trueing, more important, then buying a better motor then someone else.

Piranha 21.5K and H&R Jack Rabbit 14K Motors are cheap and run great

How about in the P class - is something other than plastic OK for that class?
The P cars did run in some of the same races with the pony cars, I believe only 2 times. But they are not part of this proxy at this time.

Tire and wheel sizes open? was it not urethane only on narrow rims?

                GTO: GT Over two litre
                GTU: GT Under two litre

This will certainly tighten the field up. It will come down to gear choice and weight placement I think. Well also body size and chassis if one ops for HRS or making a Slot.It fit a TA body. UM one could get creative I guess. Having no pod float restrictions may be a game changer. Stock or otherwise. Well lets just say a whole new ballgame.
