    2012 Scratchbuilt Chassis Proxy - Round 1

The 1st race will be held tonight on the Way2fast commercial track in Canberra.

We will probably use the 4 middle lanes depending on the number of drivers we get tonight.

I've got my good camera so should be able to take some reasonable pictures and I'll get feedback from the drivers so you know how your car is for other people to drive.

    Cheers

    Paul

HI Guys, I only just found this thread. I'm one of the drivers from the Canberra round.
And I must say I'm hooked I loved driving these things especialy that Escort, it just got faster the harder I pushed it, just the way I like them.
I'll have to get a head start on next years round and start building a car now.
I can't wait for the final round when I get a chance to drive them all again.

    Cheers
    Andrew

Ps: Oh by the way I'm Paul's younger (better looking) brother.

Mike, I've PM'd you Shane's address in Tasmania. Can you post to him and I'll send off the rest of the cars to him as well.

    Thanks

    Paul

Sorry - Things overtaken by life. I'll bung some numbers on it and post it in this evenings post.

I'm waiting for Mike's replacement body for the Aston to arrive. As soon as it's here I'll post the cars to Shane to run the next 2 rounds in Tassie.

    Cheers

Mike, your car was very much liked by all, very forgiving to drive.

For some reason the 25k motor doesn't like to rev and I think the gears are still a bit tight but should free up the more it's used. Expect better results as this proxy progresses.

    Cheers

Manimmal just alerted me to this
5th place is pretty cool for 2nd brass chassis and 2nd proxy
Thanks to the guys who ran the cars on the night
    Sorry 'bout the Aston
Paul could you add a few cylinders to my car please
    Cheers

A comment was made that the car had a mind of it's own, and it wasn't very bright.

This reminds me of the CEO/or equivalent explanation: "Mistakes were made". What a masochistic car to destroy it's own body.

This is a routine proceedure before each round is it not? A routine maintenance proceedure like cleaning the tires before each heat and making sure the braids are clean.

Now if the bushings are buried like a certain ATS was in the 2011-12 VRAA, well, that's another matter.

No worries Ken, I should have some 90 grade koala oil somewhere. Just have to find the old spatula to apply it and I think the last place I saw it was in the kid's sand pit.

Methinks perhaps a couple of drops of super glue would probably be more beneficial to the rest of us!!!!
