    There is a track in Austin, TX being built by the local club. Track location is:

    King's Hobby
    8810 N. Lamar Blvd
    Austin, TX 78753

                  Ok, what did you use for the grass? That stuff looks like it needs to be mowed once a week! Excellent work.

                    That is static grass. (IIRC, a Woodland Scenics product, but it might have been Noch.) It uses a special applicator to electrically charge the material so it stands up. Then we just sprayed the heck out of it with a water and glue mixture and/or hairspray.

                    It has withstood day-to-day use remarkably well. (Our scenery master [Porsche917] was careful to only apply it to the sections of scenery that are not exposed to a lot of hands.)

                        The track table measures 26 X 5 feet.

                            All members pitched in but most of the pictures were taken by Russell (gentleman wearing the beret), he also printed and glued the pictures on foam board.

                              Little update on what the club is doing:
                              - Slot.it Challenge races every other Saturday divided in quarterly series (Scaleracing Rules)
                              - Trans-Am stock, Sacalextric or Pioneer, with free choice of tires (2nd quarter after Slot.it Challenge)
                              - F1 Scalextric stock with free choice of tires (3rd quarter after Slot.it Challenge)
                              - GT Unlimited (4th quarter after Slot.it Challenge)

                              ------ No magnets in any of our series.

                              Every Thursday from 5pm to 9pm we have club nights.
                              We are working on a BRM Series using Scaleracing rules and we have an ad hoc type, 10 race series called El Piloto, using Slot.it McLaren F1 cars provided by the club. Tonight the 3rd race of the El Piloto series starts at 7:30pm CST.

                              All our races are broadcasted on justin.tv/austinslotcarclub.com.
