  • Adding brick and mortar to our mobile fleet

Races2U is now adding a brick and mortar location along with our trailer fleet. Our first location is in Austin, Texas, on US 183 across from Lakeline Mall. For those of you who haven't heard, Formula 1 Racing is coming to Austin this November on the still under construction Circuit of the Americas. Races2U is also building the Circuit of the Americas using Scalextric digital track. Here is a pic of it under construction. It's roughly 17' long by 8' wide, and has 5 straight switches, 3 curve switches, pit stop with pit game, and PC race management. Although in this picture the track is laying flat, there will be elevation changes in the final product to closely mirror the real track. We have taken recent model F1 cars from Carrera and SCX and modified and chipped them so we can have a full field of F1 cars on the track. Average lap speed so far seems to be about 11 seconds, with best time being 8.75 seconds. The real Circuit of the Americas has 20 turns, and we were able to incorporate 18 of them into this track. Of course, to really do justice to CotA, a scale track would have to be 32 feet by 19 feet, but that will have to wait. Austinites will be able to see and race on this track 6 months before the real one is complete. We will be opening our doors the first of May, 2012
