This race is for Group 5 cars from 1976 to 1982.
All races to be on routed tracks.1st race to be held in April 2012. 8 races (1 per month)
across Australia with the final race held in November 2012.
Chassis must be homemade, no modifying a production chassis.
Bodies must be either injection-molded 'hard' plastic or resin or fiberglass. Please check with the organisers if you wish to use a body made from other materials; however vacuum-formed bodies are not permitted. Appendages such as on the real car (e.g. spoilers and diaplanes) may be painted Lexan or other lightweight material.
Fantasy liveries are allowed.
Body must be mounted securely but can float.
All cars must carry 3 numbers on the car, one on each side and one on the front.
All bodies must contain interior tray of plastic or styrene a minimum 10 thou thick comprising a three dimensional driver with head, shoulders, arms and a steering wheel. Vac formed windshields and interiors are permitted.
The body must fully enclose the chassis, running gear, guide and
braid 
when viewed from above. Maximum body width is 2 5/8" (67mm).
Maximum width measured from the outside edges of the wheels must not exceed 2.5", regardless of the dimensions of the real car.
Minimum ground clearance is 1/16".
Chassis may be of any design, inline, sidewinder, anglewinder or front mounted inline, and made from any material but no laser or EDM-cut components, other than guide tongue and axle pillow-blocks, may be used. Pre made rear axle brackets are permitted. Chassis may be made out of brass, copper, fiberglass, molded plastic, Carbon Fiber, wood, resin, laminated composition, piano wire may be used in the chassis.
The chassis MUST BE SOMETHING THAT CAN BE BUILT IN THE HOME WORKSHOP.
No modified commercial chassis permitted, this is a scratch built proxy race.
Only one guide flag may be used.
Ball bearings are NOT permitted.
Any commercially available 1/32 scale motor can be used however cobalt magnets are not permitted. The motor must be the same type for each track. No changing to a hotter motor for the faster tracks. The motor may be replaced at any time with another of same spec
Wheels must contain hub inserts appropriate for the car being modeled and the period unless the wheel has a design to make it look like a real wheel.
Tires - Minimum front tire diameter will be 18mm (.700) Minimum width of 7mm. Minimum rear tire diameter will be 19mm. Maximum tread width of 14mm. All tyres must be black, either Urethane or Rubber. No silicone tyres, no spongies.
