Default 2017 Build Thread

The proxy starts in October so time to start building something. Here's what I've got so far.

This one still needs the chassis trimmed to fit and inserts for the rear wheels.

Chassis is a NSR Renault Clio which was pretty easy to fit to the SCX Audi TT body.

Another SCX Audi TT

It's running a 3d printed chassis. I might fit an anglewinder pod with a boxer motor to this one.

Need to trim the chassis on this one, fit clear windows and an interior.

It's running another NSR chassis, this time from a Mosler.

The other Scalex Calibra also needs clear windows and an has a surprise under the body.

Chassis is from an Avant Slot.

I've also got a Spirit Peugeot but it's the silhouette version, not the DTM coupe so it's not eligible. (Edit: it's allowed). It's a pity they never raced Combis as touring cars, I'd love to put this one on the grid.

Cheers

Paul

I find it odd that the Silhouette isn't eligible, but the Clio and Punto are. The Silhouette is more of a touring car than the other 2.

It's too early for me to reveal the Wet Coast Engineering special.

Once everybody sees how fast it's going to be, they'll just pick up their cars and go home. You see.

To me the Silhouette looks more like a GT than a touring car but then I compared it against the Carrera M4 DTM coupe and you're right, it is more of a touring car. I'll add it back to the list.

Hope you're appreciative of the work I did to convert my NSR Renault Clio to an Audi TT DTM.

Keep questioning my choices, it's good to have someone keeping me on my toes.

Cheers

Paul

Great work on your cars, Paul. I wasn't really questioning your choices, I just thought it would make a more "accurate" touring car than the Clio or Punto.

I remember when these were touring cars.

To me these are supercars.

At first I thought of restoring my old faithful Clio, but when I found a cheap Mondriaan version I bought that. It has the new chassis with triangular motor mount, drop arm and adjustabe front axle. I'll try this out to see if it works as good for me as the older version chassis. If it doesn't I will use the chassis of an old Punto, the chassis are identical but for some odd reason my Clios were always quicker than the Punto.

Default BMW coming up eh?

Oh sure, those are snappy colours on that car.

At least it isn't orange!

But so far, he doesn't seem to know what makes it quick ... or not.

That reminds me, I've got 4 proxy cars to build. Better order a couple of gallons of orange paint.

Might go fluro this time.

Want me to order you some? What colour is loser?
