No worries here, my car needs the added rest to race for space in the top 10. Hope all is well and hopefully someone can become the Bezos of slot car racing so work doesn't get in the way of what's important.

We have a date and time!

I am away next week on business, but thanks to Alwyn and Perry the race is set for the morning of Saturday May 19th. Start time will be around 10.30am and we are aiming to provide a live feed on Youtube.

Qualifying will be more than likely Friday evening (no video) or early Saturday.

Thanks again for your patience, let's RACE!

Chris

I am heading out on my work trip tomorrow, back on Thursday. Garage has been cleaned, mostly, and there is space again for the track. Qualifying is planned for Friday, (I will run the cars) and Perry and Alwyn will be here for the racing on Saturday.

The race will be streamed live, that's the plan anyway, so watch this thread for the link.

We have had good interest in the series, but unfortunately the month delay (as well as multiple other proxies and the start of summer) have slowed things a bit. Hopefully we can bring you a good show for the final race, finalize the top 16 and crown the CHAMP! There are still a few spots undecided, so I am sure we will have a great race.

This race will be followed by the "top off" car review and the shipping of the cars home!

See you all soon.

Chris

PS: I was going to keep this quiet, but I am also happy to tell ya'all that I have fixed car #70, amazing that the car was still running. I have recharged the fargal pin, baked the car for the required 10mins in a 1200w microwave and removed the car-go-slow packing tape, that I assume was used to hold it all together. I also applied the "brown grease" that was included in the shipping box.

I know Smokeio has been busy with his boat and spending hours working on the decals and the beautiful airbrush paint job for his Shadow DN4 CanAm entry! I have never seen such a fine shade of white... WOW! I am sure he will appreciate the help with this car.....

Thanks to Air Canada, a cancelled flight and a couple of bumps, I made it home at 1am this morning!

Done work for today and it is time to get the track and garage ready for qualifying tonight. Perry and Alwyn, our race drivers, will be here around 9.30am tomorrow and I am hoping to start the live feed at approximately 11am, check this space for confirmation and a link.

If you don't like the racing, there is a wedding you can go and watch...

Good luck to car #7....oh' that's my car, rather forward of me I would think, but since I am the Race Director, I can do whatever I want.......

Car #5 is again to fast for the rest of us, congrats Camber!

However all is not lost, the car was not that easy to drive and it also had a de-slot, so let's race!

Extremely close, we can expect a great race, on this tight and narrow track.

Good luck to ALL.

Chris

Thanks for the qualifying run F1 Fan!!! Now the #3 just needs to finish where it starts in the finale.
Good Luck to all the Group5 builders as races are tight within the race.

Not much separating the cars on this track, my car will be a handful.

Looking forward to the race, good luck all.

Cheers,

- Cam

Default Such a nerd...

But then again, you guys know that about me already...

Comparison between the original Round 0 "Shake down" run and yesterday's Q:

Some quick thoughts:

* Q Lap times are pretty consistently around half a tenth slower than the round 0 times.
* Because of the very close lap times, small changes in times resulted in noticeable changes in position, therefore changes of 3 - 4 positions are fairly typical.
* Big winner is AJK Tony, big loser is Smokeio Mike.
* Top 9 cars are within about .015 seconds of each other. It is going to be a bun-fight out there...

Just getting ready for the 1 1/2 hour drive to Chris's place: his lovely wife (far too good for him...) offered (has been begged to?) make breakfast for us. Looking forward to this!

Alwyn

Wow very tight finishes! Congrats Cameron on your pole! Thanks guys for driving to Chilliwack today to run our cars!

I've been so busy at home with yard projects .... It's so nice to have this distraction today!

Rob.

Thanks again to Alwyn and Perry for doing driving duties, it was much appreciated. The driving standard was extremely high. We also had a friend of Alwyn, Stephen join us, and being a keen photographer, he took some pictures, those will be shared later

The cars are so evenly matched that the smallest hiccup can drop a car several positions. All in all very, very good cars.

Car #5 did not have a running mate, so Alwyn drove another car against it in the one heat, and I drove my car #7 in the 2nd heat, since Perry had to leave. The laps for those two cars did not count.

More comments and the final "top-off video" later.

Thanks again for entering, we had a great time racing your cars.

Chris

WOW!! That was some fun to watch. Steeve's car coming through in the clutch to hold his position against the #3. And a true honor it was to watch the #3 race against ChrisguyW and keep within 5feet (that's a win in my book). Smokieo's car was definitely off the pace and I can only hope all is well but again a strong series. Congratulations to Camber and the consistency of the #5, you are truly a welcomed addition to this proxy and I only hope to compete against you in this and other proxies. Sir F1Fan, another year another great car. Thank you for hosting this great event Year over year.
