The irony here is that no-one would take apart any of your cars because there's nothing to learn.

Unless you want to know how much JB weld will fit in a slot car.

I think cars can and should be open by race director prior first round to do tech inspection so all is within rules. Later only if is needed for repairs.

Eh... my other car in other proxy which just started today ended up been 32 of 45 .... due to guide been to deep and desloted on bumps in the slot in last heat every lap costing me probably 8 to 10 laps.... life ... still lots to learn

My Mercedes broke Radarek's lap record for DTM's on Alvaro's track last night. 5.805 compared to Radarek's 5.869. It's not much but now I know how proud Neal Armstrong must have felt when he stepped on to the moon.

Hi all.

Appreciate extra time given to Rad to fix his car but such delays are the best way to ruin any proxy.

Seems there should be a maximum time between rounds - 2 weeks seems to be standard but quicker is fine.

Realise weather conditions and travel between countries has to be taken into account.

You can blame me for this delay. I held the cars here while the Radarek car was repaired after being damaged while being raced. Not a build fault but a part failure. It could happen to any of us at any time. In fact I've had at least two failed motors replaced mid-proxy by hosts and one body completely destroyed that was sent home in unrepairable pieces.

So sure, we could have just gone on without him but I felt we needed to give the leader a little respect. It's a long proxy and wear and tear will occur.

In the future maybe the organizers will address the need to take action when unforeseen events occur and some of these delays will be more acceptable or at least understandable.

Hi Kidvoltage. Sorry not blaming anybody for anything. Rad's problem was obviously very serious. I had no idea what. Perhaps he had to wait for parts.

Agree on breakages. They can happen to anybody. Have helped run many proxies myself and had to carry out repairs. Have also had the odd mishap myself but nothing too serious. Probably more good luck than good management.

Looking forward to Tacoma round. My wife has distant relatives in Washington State.

Regards Chas Le Breton

for the next year, we need to have a clear penalty rating for every fix which were reported this year. Are you ok with this rule?

I'm betting Sports Racer would be happy to have some input on next year's rules. Contact him. Take part. Get your voice heard.

More than happy to get some input into next years proxy.

How does this sound?

1 - non-compliant mechanical and car set up issues including wheels/tyres at scrutineering - 5 points

2 -
repair of mechanical failure deemed not to be caused primarily by accident damage - 5 points

3 - car not run due to hosts discretion because of clearance issues - no points will be awarded for that round. Car owner has the option to replace tyres or park the car.

4 - For all other non-specified events requiring vehicle work the penalty, if any, will be based on a principle of reasonable fairness to all entrants at sole discretion and decision of the organizers

I was a part of the 2016 tire gate during the Group 5 proxy. We elected for the car to carry one on the original tires as a change would lead to an unfair advantage. In this case there was enough tire to go on. Going forward you may want a graduated penalty given the length of this proxy and a reduction of a "new tire" advantage as fewer races are available. Here's an example. 20points races 1-3. 15 points races 4-6 10 points races 7-10 5 points races 11-13.

Regarding tech:
I feel that general tech is good, ride height, tires under the fenders or even, visual of motor if can seen without opening the car. I had a car opened prior to the start of a proxy but it was not stated that visual inspections would happen, unlike the Slot It Shootout. Long story short, the car was reassembled improperly which led to a fender rub and hindered performance dramatically and wore down the middle of the tire at the same time. I'm fine with open inspection at the end of a series.

I know I'm not participating in this proxy and my thoughts are for proxies in general. I feel this proxy has been run properly and timely and is truly an endurance proxy.
