Scalextric to Digital
Returning to the hobby after a long absence, I need a little advice. My experience, in younger days was mostly with Aurora and Tyco HO sets. I did have some quality time with a few 1/32's at Motorama Speedway and Hobby Town up in Illinois. Now I have two AFX sets and a Micro Scalextric speeding (yeah, right) their way to me here in Texas. What I would like to do once they are all set up and running smoothly, is add a 1/32 set. I'm thinking of a Scalextric Ultimate Endurance. (That's why I'm getting the Micro-to check it out and I love the F430's it comes with.) After the "ULT End" is up and running and a few pay checks come in, I would like to convert to digital. Can I get the Scalextric conversion kit (I think it comes with three chips unless I'm thinking of another brand) and a couple of lane change tracks and make a full conversion? I'm also planning on "piling up these sets". Yeah, I'm crazy. Any imput by you more experienced colleagues would be greatly appreciated.
