BRM Chassis Help

I have some chassis questions about the older BRM IMSA Porsche's.

I have a BRM Porsche 962 IMSA Lowenbrau #BRM009 that comes with the older chassis that I believe requires a shim in order for the gear mesh to be correct. Does BRM's new IMSA Porsche chassis #S-008NO aleviate the need for the shim? Has anyone used the new chassis and can they tell me if it made any difference. Some of our club members have shimmed their motors in the olders Porsche chassis and still have issues with gear mesh and lots of gear mesh noise.
