Default First Proxy

I think I will participate in the 2012 RAA GT2 proxy. I am a newbie so I have a couple questions.

Do the front tires have to touch when car is sitting on track?

Is there a popular type of guide? How about what type of braid ?

It seems alot of people change the rear axle/wheels. Why? I was thinking maybe to get the right gear combination. Are there other reasons?

Thanks in advance.

Yes. That way the cars handling is better. Coat the fronts with clear nail polish to reduce front grip.

Guides should be deep but not bottom out on any of the host tracks. Slot.It is a good choice.

Braid ... again Slot.it, slot car corner, SCX Pro

Lighter weight wheels that are perfectly true, axels that have no slop in the bushings. If you use CB Design rims you don't need inserts and that means less weight. And rotating weight can hurt acceleration.

The rules say no champion interiors. Are these allowed? They seem to have more detail than the champion.

As I understand, by the rules the front tires do not need to touch. You can run a "tri-pod" set up if you want. But, how the car handles is affected by the front wheel ride height. And because of the tracks run in this series the cars handle better if the front tires are touching.

Default Motor list

hey guys..

A real newbe here and I'm think'n of putting a car into perhaps GT1 class. I have done some reading for the past RRA series, but can't seem to find this answer....is there a posting for motors allowed in the 2012 RRA races, and if so will the Pioneer Typhoon SS be allowed into GT1 ? it specs @ 21K and tests @ 22.7 K w/T=140gr/cm....

I'm sorry if this has been addressed before I just couldn't find it..

Dick

Default rules

Ok Doc.........

I'll look for the posting of the rules for '12 . As the Typhoon SS doesn't exceed the 24K @ 12 V maybe it can be included in them and as I think about it.... maybe Pioneer would get involved ( I'm not sure as they maybe now ) if they saw their motor(s) more widely used ....just a thought.

What he said.

Also, take a look up here, you should find some probable answers there regarding the other stuff.
