Default Lot more room in shop without boat inside.

First I would like to thank the HO SCI Members for all their help in the last 22 months of construction. I now have a place to race at home !

This the result of your ideas on my " Tight and Twisty Saturday Night Special " It operates flawlessly and is smooth with a fast flow. Warning, this is a true drivers challenge and never gets boring because it can bite

you at any given time, learn the lanes and try to get faster and faster !

Wow impressive track!

I'd like to snake a few Tjets through all those bends

Have you considered moving/removing the turn railings so cars can't lean on them?

Thanks, you helped !

The track is embedded into 1/4" a/c plywood on top of 3/4" MDF work tables from the door shop and all guard rails, fences and lexan walls are 1-3/8" to 6" from plastic track edge.

All track surfaces are flush with the table top including the overpass with 1-3/8's shoulders,

One corner we call the DARLINGTON STRIPE TURN we left 3/4" from edge on plastic track. Not much leaning onto the retaining wall anywhere else. Everyone gets a 3 minute chance to get their stripe.

"Have you considered moving/removing the turn railings so cars can't lean on them?"

B75, I'm still learning and moving/removing all the time, just not the track figuration. It's proven it self to be what it is. FUN !

Now the routed track will be be focused more on speed and fast handling. That's after the wife's new car. Then it's on like Donkey Kong , Banked Turns and All !

Ready for some racing on the 14th !
Cliff

Man that looks like some tasty fun!

Would make a fun addition to the MASCAR series for a Tjet race???? Might not be too far of a drive...

Awesome track Cliff!

Really looks tough and challenging. What a great room for a race meeting as well. What is the overall average lane length?

Cheers

Gareth

Gareth, I slipped a fabric tape measure into the white lane and it measures 53'-3".

Thanks for the kind words guys,

Very cool layout. 5 minutes on that must give the trigger finger a work out!

Very nice looking technical circuit Cliff! Which has the faster lap times, the Simplicity or the Deer?

The Deer of course, like South Shore Racing said above, better have a can of oil for your controller if you are reading the track well and running fast, fast.

Icy Hot is good for the 50 and over racers. ( Me after 4 hours. ) I've also learned for the first time I run better on this circuit with the brakes hooked up ? No matter what class so far ?

I just race my wife and 3 friends from time to time. I race on it every day I'm home if I'm not too tired. Thank God for Trackmate, they live up to their name.

Thanks for your interest, means more in today's world, you know what I mean ?

Here's a Storm Super Stocker out of the box doing mid 4's I believe ! This footage was taken over a year ago.

Time to get ready for the sack, I have 2 days at Hickory Motor Speedway this weekend, leaving in the morning. If your in the area, come watch us Saturday Night, it's pay for view too, for $10:00.

Visit here for the site I'm starting for the team. www.carolinaanimalmodifiedseries.com .( It used to be my Kart Series Site. ) There is nothing for sell on this site, just showing pictures. I put this super bright young kid in his first kart race on a 3/8's mile clay Stock Car Track and he won ! That was in 2005. He's been my driver ever since. Now were learning cars with Donnie Allison and Sons in the Allison / Legacy Touring Series. It's a blast so far. I'm PR, Marketing, Spotter, Tire man or what ever needs to be done. It's all part of being part of a race team, right ? But I still have a lot to learn !

Hope I didn't bore you and again thanks to all the SCI members who return Pm's, answered my questions with no hesitation etc. to get this track to the point it is, Thanks.
Speak at ya Sunday Night, if not, Happy Early Easter !

Later Cliff #26

I've been wanting to come down to watch a race at Hickory for years. I grew up in Asheville, and still HATE what happened to the racetrack there. I still say bad things when I drive by and see all the sissy folks riding their bikes on it!

Ovalhead69, that is an impressive layout overall, and looks to be quite challenging with all those curves. What kind of cars are you running on it (T-Jets, inlines, etc.)? What are you using for power? I like a layout decorated with structures and a little landscaping, and you appear to have struck a nice balance with yours.......
