Looking back on last years round on my track the times are generally quicker, don't have a quick answer to that,we don't seem to have in this years field the stand outs from last year, having said that I think the cars this year are every bit as good as last year but missing the stand out cars that made last years field.
sadly ,not having that bunch of cars from oz has dented the field somewhat, wait till we get the race results in,that will be a better yardstick,
I have to explain something before I get into the results, because the cars did not arrive at the "designated" time I lost my drivers for running this proxy round.
My place is some 1 -2 hours from my nearest club member and I could not get sufficient numbers to help me run the round within a reasonable time,so I took the decision to run the round solo.
I just thought it was best that I make that clear,no drama for me,I had a great couple of days and on my home track I knew that each car would get consistent runs.
So,about the round.
Firstly thank you all for having your cars at my place, some terrific cars amongst the 18 entries, you should all be proud of your 2012 IPS Proxy entries.
The racing was very close, for a while, till the absolute last 2 cars came onto the track, they blew the rest of the field away, indeed, the winner was the last car on track, runner up next to the last runner on track.
I have to say there were some great cars to drive,if I could be allowed to pick out some of my favourites,
Alexis this was just a great car to run,no deslots, and you could push hard without any hint of impending drama, and a NC1 to boot!
Biedmatt initially during practice and qualifying I thought this would be a handful, race day came and the car just hooked up,I think I had 1 or 2 deslots and a real nice car.
Bopalou another car that worried me early on,but it was real nice when it counted
Munter,great car,very smooth,hardly a deslot
Ckouba, love that Ford GT,hard to get into trouble!
Obviously other cars were good also, but, for me these stood out.
I just had a look at the results from last years IPS at my track,MMMoosess' win was 134 laps,so this years event (143 laps)was significantly up on last years lap count.
Congrats to the gentlemen on the podium and Alexis for making his first appearance on the top step.
Mike is wondering what happened after having back to back wins he finishes twelfth, did something happen to his car?
Disappointed that #23 slipped from its grid position of 4th to finish the race down in 8th place. Guess I can't blame the driver under the circumstances as Terry did it all. Wow, that was a lot of driving. He should change his forum-name to "Iron Man". Many thanks for getting the job done.
Congrats to the winner and the others on the podium. Nice to see a new winner and the results mixed up a bit.
Thanks to Terry for runs. And congrats to slot-brutha Chris for being the top Oregonian. As well as all the others above me. As for the rest of us, looks like we have our work cut out for us.
Right there with ya bro'. Congrats to all those in front of me and for that matter, the precious few behind me too. I should've never switched bodies I guess.
Mackers car was fine,if a little taily, speed was good and as my track is a sort of flowing design it needs a car to be able to drive out of the corners with good grip, mackers car didn't quite have the grip of the top cars.
I loved the old23 car, right up till the last 5 or 6 cars it was still up there, even though it raced early in the race,I ran the cars as I qualified them, grip was good early on,so I didn't find the early cars disadvantaged with grip because of that,
Big Jack, your car was more of me knowing how hard I could push, qualifying I may have been a bit gun shy, come raceday I had the mind set that all cars would be pushed to see where the most speed was, your car was very nice, just a tad off the top cars but real handy and gripped well.
Paul, your car was just lacking grip,I cleaned your tyres as I did with the others, even gave them a light sanding,to no avail, the tyres even after all that had this light sheen on them and just wasn't going to work on the day.
Rico, even though the car had speed it was unstable and after pushing and finding a few deslots I backed off and drove it as smoothly as I could,it was quick down the chute but a little tippy in the corners and as such it needed to be coaxed around the track
Initially I was wary of the running the race on my own,but I cut it into segments, the race itself was spread over the Saturday and Sunday so it was no big deal,it was interesting to look at the total laps run by the entire field as compared to last years IPS at the same track.
The winners lap score this year was, I think, 8 laps more than last year, right down the field that was the case,so I was happy that all cars had consistent runs,in the past I'm sure that, on the day, some guest drivers have not performed as you would want and that has affected the placings of some cars,so this way all cars had the same driver and I think the results reflect that.

Terry
Thanks for the critique on the car Terry. It is working better then I had thought it would. When it left here I was not real sure how it would do. So far, so good
For better or worse, the way you ran your race is how I run my races. As the drivers I have access to are quite varied as to expertise........ I too prefer to run the cars myself.
