Default Construction has started!

Well I'm back in the USA. I've got the man cave painted and the dining room painted. Picked up the routed MDF from the CNC man. Built all but one table. Whew that was a busy two days....

Tables just about completed

The routed MDF sitting in the garage waiting for me to route the gain in it and paint it.

Default Track layout in driveway

Okay with the table construction completed and a trip to the Home Depot to look at paint for the bedroom out of the way I finally had time to layout all the pieces in the driveway to see how it looks. Looks good! Can't wait to get this thing together and start turning some hot laps.....

Gees what a relief to see the sections mate together. This was the first track I handed to you guys where I didn't have time to piece it together in the drive way before delivery. Since wicked devided it up in cad and gave me the cut plans like that I never really "saw" it complete. So would have probably looked like an idiot trying to lay it out in the drive (I'm sure the neighbors wonder some times). I was not following the thread, and would probably never figured out the stacked sections.

Course the best part about having a track cut this way (other then ya get to avoide the dust of manual cutting) is ya got it to this point in less then a week (actually was only a few days from CAD to ready for pickup)!!!

But everything looks like it lines up well. (if I do say so my self)...

Thanks again!!!..

Default Lanes painted

In between painting bedroom walls, mowing the yard and several other honey do's I found some time to get the slots painted today.

Default Finally some progress

Well it's been awhile since I made some progress on the track build! Life, work and the honey do list have been taking up most of my time. But with the help of some racing friends I got some work done on the track. BIG THANKS TO MikeinClover (Mike) and WikedMini (Dave) for the help.

Track is now bolted together and has temporary elevation supports in place. I'm hoping to get some braid laid today and tomorrow.

Nice looking room---track's coming along nicely!! Keep posting--and keep working--bet you're getting anxious to run some "hot Laps" soon!! I'd say you better lay the braid in all the lanes at once--because if you do ONE---you'll start racing that lane for fun and not get anything else done for a while!!!

It's a lot of work but it is coming together nicely. Almost got sucked into racing on your OTHER wood track last night!!! Remember - those elevation changes are temporary so play around with it and see what you come up with.

I agree - make sure you do ALL the braid before applying any power!

Default Update - Progress made! Busy Weekend

Got some braiding and some elevation changes done this weekend. 7 of the 11 pieces have braid in all three lanes. 1 other track piece is taped and ready for braid .

The lower track got some elevation making it uphill to the middle of the corner and then downhill into the next corner.

This corner is at the bottom of the downhill cuve in previous photos. This turn exits and goes uphill to next corner.

small blocks attached to the sides of the track to provide areas to attach tile board guard rails.

tile board cut into 4" tall 4' long strips and painted with a coat of red paint. These will be guard rails ready for some geezer banners.

extra plywood attached in corner for a sand trap / kitty litter area with tires and fence.

Hey Greenjo, small world - I lived in Fenton for a few years. I've landed in Midland now. Love the setup you have there. I can only dream of so much space for now! And as you may guess from the screen name, another Spartan fan here too.
