Hello, fellow slot car lovers! My family and I just moved to Apex from Louisville, KY, where we have a very active and wonderful slot car club. I am looking for a club in the Triangle area. If one does not exist, I may look for one or two fellow enthusiasts (or a hobby store) to help start one.

Also, I have yet to build a track of any "significance", so I may be tapping some of you for tips and such for routing a wooden track. For the record, my son is the real slot car nut (Bain, age 9). We just started this hobby over a year ago and it has been a great bonding experience.

Welcome to the forum !!! this is the greatest place for our hobby full of good people and great help and information. And welcome to the NC sandhills !!
The guys in SCANC are a great bunch of guys I got to go up to winston and race once and hope to do it again.
We are in Sanford, just about 25 mins south of Apex, and have just built a wood oval to get started the 2 of us are trying to get some more to come race and get together to plan building a larger road course, so drop us a note if your in the area and I'll let you know when we are planning a race our first should be soon though it may just be 2 or 3 of us , it'll be fun either way

Welcome to SCI! There are several routed mdf home tracks in the Triad area about 1 - 2 hours from you in Apex. There is a possibility that scytruckin will be hosting a race this Sunday on his 3-lane routed track in Summerfield (Leadfinger Raceway). If not, I will host a race on my track in Winston-Salem Sunday afternoon (Laguna Trace Raceway).
