The U-stream is working fine, just waiting for Barney's BBQ then we will go racing!
In the meantime, drivers are practicing with their own cars, getting the grip up on the track. It is pretty hot here today, so the traction is not as high as it was Thursday night for qualifying, which may be an advantage when we get to run the trucks.
Looked like a great day of racing. Great video Barney!! I even got to watch the stream over my cell phone, just as good as the PC. SWIMBO was ok with me watching while we were waiting to be called in.
Now we await the results. Some of the trucks looked really hooked up and flying.
Had a great day! Not much fun watching all the other guys drive'm! Thanks to Dennis and Adie for hosting. Tims race will be up next... maybe the 5th Sat this month???
When I was playing aroune with the video this morning I found if I backed off the resolution from HD down to 800 it got better without all the choppyness.....? I have not watched it yet as I'm getting to eat my BBQ for dinner right now with my wife....
stay tuned!
The broadcast quality was really good, Barn. I saw the entire 2nd race and some parts of the 1st.
Very nice group of people y'all have there, one of this days I'll stop by.
Before I comment on the trucks, I'd be remiss if I didn't thank our hosts today, Dennis and Adie, two of the most welcoming and nice people you could ever meet!
About the trucks...having had the opportunity to drive the trucks on my track last year (and this year in a few weeks), I must say that you all really raised your game this year! As a whole, the field is great, no real dogs in the bunch! There was a couple, last year, that had trouble making two consecutive laps on my track....I don't expect that this year! Nice work boys!
Can't wait to see the "final" results as, I wasn't paying attention when Dennis was tallying up the final results!
Elephants Rule!
David
PS. Thanks to Barney for providing the excellent "dead animal flesh"!
You know I still have to learn more as I watched it I was so focused on getting all the action it was not until the race started I saw that you could not see any of our racers!
It was too late by then and next time I will try to get a track pic so you can see the racers and the track!
Thanks Ary for all the help and being "on call" so we could at least see our trucks!
I made a mistake in staging the qualifying shot, with the #68 and #26 trucks swapped over, in fact the #68 was 2nd and the #26 was 3rd.
Qualifying:
The first heat:
Some racing action:
Overall and "Bug/Sisu" class podium:
Cabover class podium:
I hope this covers things, some of the other drivers and Barney will probably add more as the day goes on, and I will add some driving impressions later, plus some details about repairs.
Thanks for letting us race your creations, it was an eye-opener to eperience how well these big lumps can be made to run!
