Red face Ponderosa Raceway

I think we should include Terry's track and set-up in the Mid-Plains rotation. If you guys are keen. should have asked first.

The Silky's and their grandson's made it out for the last week in May for regular Thursday night racing. I've been holding onto these results and wanted to post here if it's ok. If not you're more then welcome to boot it along with Bill Bender's post about his track.

Here's the results and pics from the Oval.

First was "Outlaws" (sorry missed the pics) Mainly they were open/unlimited body and chassis. Only laps were recorded as it was all handwritten. Laptimes should follow when we get some sort of computer hooked up.

Terry - 325
Tommy - 296
Bill - 282
Jim - 273
Brandon - 259
Trey - 237

Next we ran the ever popular Artin Stockcars. These are underpowered and a blast to run! Great little cars that really EVEN out the field. One car lost it's pinion during a last second tire cleaning, but we we're ready with a replacement. They stayed in the lane and drivers moved around for the heats. (someone can chime in as to that style of racing)

Bill - 239
Terry - 234
Jim - 228
Brandon - 221
Tommy - 219
Trey - 213

Next was the Legend's. Womp chassis with some older style bodies. Some were a bit faster then others, but we all got a chance to run each one. Post-race included a spec check and found that one of the cars had a Super 16D for power. Gearing was also a concern as that car was the one to beat, or get beat by. It was fun trying to make up all the laps you had lost when running alongside it. Luckily a DiFalco with coast was hooked up to it so that made cornering a bit easier.

Terry - 306
Bill - 298
Jim - 272
Brandon - 235
Tommy - 209

Trey was our corner Marshall and thanks to his efforts we were back and running as fast as his hands could get us there.

Here's Terry's tech and tire station.

Thanks for lookin'

More to come as next Thursday brings us to Bill Bender's house.

We ran the first Thursday of June at my place, but no results were recorded as there's no lap timer as of yet. I'm still wiring that dern LPT cable and need drivers for the XP re-install

The way I see it.....You are club members with a track,we post results when you don't make it here...ain't no different if you post results when we aren't there.
Now....the question is....how do we make it so we can get there with a alarm clock time of 5:30 during the week

Thanks for posting and keeping us in the loop looks like a blast, definitely like the assortment of cars to drive.
Man this club has it all

You guys over there have been partial to running on Thursday nights. Like 2fer said, it just makes for an early wake-up call on Friday. Also, this month and early July my schedule is full of baseball games for our older son.

After that, I'd be game to make the trip over as part of our regular rotation - even on a Thursday night. A little sleepy-eyed Friday morning isn't the end of the world (usually).

Talking casual Friday's

Thanks for letting our group post up here. Perhaps we could move Bill Bender's post into this section?

Given enough notice we could do Saturday or Sunday night to accommodate work schedules. That should make for a fun Monday. Jim's been doing every other Thur night for so long we've just taken to that as a rule. Some have schedule conflicts and we sometimes move things if needed. Just more phone calls.

Summer brings plenty of extra stuff to "get in the way" but we'll always work with those interested.

We're tentatively doing a meet and greet with an HO guy in Gretna this Sunday night to get him leaning towards 1/32 a bit more. He needs another outlet as he just quit smoking. He's seen my track, and met the Silky's so we're that much closer.

Also, Jim's putting tools to board in prep of a new track at his place. Squeeze sections are planned Saturday daytime is the call for people wanting to lurk. I'm planning a trip out there. Well I have to as I have his lexan strip.

Thanks again! See ya' at the ...oops sorry almost stepped in it. again!

I agree with Brandon about doing rotation with us Omaha racer's. My track is setup and ready to go and we have raced here and I have plenty of room. Any day will work for me as I am retired.

Son's ball team won last night so they will have a game on Sunday in Schuyler. Sorry, but I won't be able to make it to the big O this time.

Maybe Hawk or some others will be going??

Red face minus the numbers for now...

I'll grab the numbers from my box and get 'em up here after a bit.

We ran the roadcourse:

We had a small turn out from mainly city boys. Three official races were held, and plenty of head turning was going on with two new converts to racing. Bob-Zilla of H.O. custom fame showed and Randy from Omaha a 1/24 scale model enthusiast stopped by for some hot laps.

First race was the 'vettes from Revell, with a Scalextric thrown in for good measure. These have been a Great series car with loads of changes taking place from the stock versions.

Jim - 135 laps
Terry - 133
Bill - 127
Bob - 109
Randy - 108
Brandon 100

Next up was the Daytona Prototype's with a variety of chassis underneath. Evening up the field provided for some fun racing. First heat proved a few cars still needed some tweaking so numbers were off for some. We all had to run them as this was an IROC race.

Bill - 124
Terry - 119
Jim - 117
Randy - 112
Bob - 112
Brandon - 109

For the finale we ran NASCARS with Green endbell motor's and silicone tires. Chassis were scattered from spring steel, Revell plastic adjustable chassis and Professor motor Demon. Bodies were pulled years ago by 'The Silky'.

Bill - 129
Terry - 127
Brandon - 122
Randy - 113
Bob -113
