Hmmm ... almost make you wonder why they construct most of the cars with endbell drive as they come from the factory, don't it?

Very useful reference on Slot.it motor setups here, incidentally.

I recall when the first Sot.It Audi's, and the Canon and Kenwood Porsches came out, they were inline setups that were can drive.
And I also recall Maurizio saying something along the line that magnet racers wanted to be able to place a magnet behind the motor, so the motor got turned around. Now with the longer shaft ( and the motor moved forward), a magnet is placed behind the motor.

I've held onto all my motor mounts that mount the motor in can drive configuration...

Personally, I would like to see an inline motor bracket that puts the can drive back into the inline cars.

The endbell side of the motor is lighter then the can end. I think the majority of the weight to the rear in an inline car will only enhance it's handling.

Just my 2¢ on the subject.

I see the motors are available, just not the motor pods.

From other folks' opinions, I believe you're right. And it wouldn't be too hard to crank out another production run from the old moulds; and even better if a pod made to their current standards, with some degree of offset, we're to be produced.

We are in violent agreement on that point!

I'm impatiently awaiting the arrival of the SICH74 motor pod. I want to update my RAW Nissan with this pod. After finding a few things that needed a bit of tweaking on the Lola I bought, I'm loving the car. Nice, smooth and quiet. Now I want to get my RAW car running like the Lola.

I know in the 1/24 th scale world, when we race inline retro cars, I like to move the motor as close as possible to the rear axle centerline. The car just handles so much better.

Hopefully we will soon see those 0 offset, .5 mm offset, .75 mm offset and 1.0 mm offset inline motor pods for the inline cars. Yes, the motor does turn in the reverse direction, but a simple 'flip' of the crown gear will make that problem go away.

But then we can talk about which is better . . . . Clockwise (CW) or Counterclockwise (CCW) and the effects it has on handling!
