My package show Minimum System requiements as follows

Win 98se/2000/xp, PIII 700, 128 ram (256 if xp), 32 mb AGP (TNT or Geforce equivalent), cd rom, 700 MB free disk space, DX 5.0 or better (will have to be configured to run at low resplution when using PC approaching the minimum quoted).

The slowest PC I've ran it on is a PIV 2.4 756 RAM, 128 AGP 4X, direct x 9.0c. Program runs fast on this PC and the other PIV 3.06.

I haven't tried the full screen option yet, but am glad to see they specify Geforce, which RMS had problems with when using full screen.

BTW, it also says to run at high resolution, a PIV 1.5 and 64 MB AGP/PCIe, Geforce IV or equivalent, and directx 9.0c.

Default What track types?

This looks like a pretty interesting program that has some capabilities beyond the usual track design layout software. Does anyone know if it supports other types of track, like NINCO, Scaley Classic, or Carrera; or is it just for Scaley Sport?

Default Resolution

I read in a review that there is a limitation of 800 pixels on the resolution - is that true?

Thanks,
Andy.

No, it is a Scalextric product.

I honestly haven't tried to run this full screen, 1280x1024 in my case, but it does have a setting to allow full screen.

However, RMS has this feature and is incomatiple at resolutions higher than 800x600 when running a GeForce card, screen just goes black. Probably why i haven't tried this program at a higher res. I must admit Scalextric doesn't update there programs, no patches for bugs and they have since dropped support for RMS .

This program, the stand alone track designer does work pretty good but I have found some flaws, such as creating a track, printing it, changing the track and re-printing. I will print the original track, not as modified, until you actually save the file, close it and re-load the file. I found this out over the weekend. Was driving me crazy to see the layout on screen and seeing a different layout coming out of the printer.

One thing this program allows that RMS didn't is the aiblity to delete a section in the middle of the track and insert pieces at any point. Much better than deleting track section back to the point that a person wanted to change.

I have however got to the point where the track gets seperate from the power base and there is no way to connect it back to the power base without starting over.

The virtual test drive is a nice feature. Landscaping is nice as well, my layouts never look that nice once assembled on the floor.

With the few shortcomings that this and RMS have, I'd be hard pressed to buy Sport World, should it actually get released in the US. I cannot imagine that the program would work consistently and with Scalextric track record for dropping support and not putting out bug fixes, I'd find that very disappointing for such a neat idea.

Dare I mention Slotforum.com, but if you look at the activity in the Sport World section, it sure doesn't look promising, not much activity there versus the Scalextric digital forum.

I tried full screen on the Sport World Circuit designer program. It adjusts the monitors resolution to 800x600. Best left in a window IMO. At least the full screen option does work with the Geforce video chipset.

Hi Alan,
I've been looking to buy a copy, but can't seem to find one. Can you help?

Thanks,
