Welcome to our new racers, Cameron and Bangles(Dave). Cameron suffered a broken guide early in the race and lost an entire heat. After that he ran a good race.
Troy broke into the top three for the first time with a good drive and so did Lucas with a solid 5th in GT. Good racing guys and girl, see ya next Saturday.

Bad weather got enough racers out to run a race today. Welcome to new Ace Racers John and his Grandson Nick, and Esh.
In John's first race at Ace(with a loner car)he held off Todd for his first win. So what are you going to do next week John? Nick held off Natalie by just over a lap while Russ played pin the fender to the guard rail with Gill.
It was a good day of racing.

Final Magnet Races on "Old" Ace Track This Saturday
ACE MAGNET RACERS
This next Saturday, June 30, 2012 will be te last opportunity to race your Magnet Race Cars on the Scalelectric Track at Ace as Ace will be tearing the track apart in Early July to replace it with the "New" Routed track with Magna-Braid which the magnet racers will be able to race on but won't be quit the same as ther Scalelectric Track. So this coming Saturday will be your last chance to Race your Magnet Cars at Ace until the new track is up and running. So, any of you former magnet racers should come to Ace Hobbies this Saturday for a final race on the "Old" Track. Several racers have already said that they would be there. How about you? Even some you Canadians are wlecome, EH!
Steve "Blueflashbarnes"
(P.S. Before you ask, the track has already been sold to "Troy")

Reason: P.S. message
The track at Ace won't be taken off-line until July 8th at the earliest. So come on in and enjoy the plastic for a while yet!
The new track should be up and running before Labor Day. All your mag class cars will run fine on the new track, maybe even better.

THE NEW ROUTED 150' WOOD TRACK IS READY TO BE RACED BY MAGNET RACERS.
I did some testing with Magnet racers on the track today to check on what voltages would be best with the track. The track has been laid out with Magna-Braid, but a lot of it sits lower on the track compared to the power strips on the "old" Scalelectric track, so the magnetic attraction to the magna-braid doesn't work quit as much as with the "scalectric" track. However we couldn't race the "Carrera" cars on the scalelectric track. We can race the Carrera cars on this routed track and we do invite anyone who wants to race their Carrera cars to come and join us. We will probably will race the Scaletric and Carrera cars as seperate classes in each race. The Saturday Magnet car racing usually begins with Nascars at Noon followed by GT cars and finally LMP's. BUt come early to get some practice in to know where to slow the cars to keep from coming out of the slot. In the past the Scalelectric cars were faster than the Carrera cars but the Carrera cars have better magnets in them which migh make them better on this track. We will racing and having practice on the track at 13 volts starting shortly after opening at 10 AM. Ron & Yellow Dog deserve many accollades for the job they did in getting this "New Routed" track ready as soon as they did get it done.
SO COME IN AND JOIN US FOR SOME MAGNET RACING. ANY CANADIANS out there take advantage of the strong Canadian Dollar now. EH!!
Steve "BlueFlashBarnes"
Only one magnet will be allowed per car. All magnet cars will be tested for mag grip and racers will have to adjust their down force if it is too high. Details at the shop Saturday.

Ace Hobby Racing
Magnet racers,
First of all, Ace Hobbies had a visit by Nick of "SuperTires" this last weekend where he showed off some of his latest products including tires for H.O. racing. He indicated while he probably wouldn't be here this weekend, that He would probably be back at ACE Hobbies next week, and when he usually shows up when there is some racing that some of the racers at least will walk away with some Ace Hobbies Store credit vouchers toward anything in the store. As I mentioned earlier, I have been doing some testing of my magnet cars on the track to determine the best voltage to set the new routed track at. That testing is done and the voltage for various magnet car classes have been determined.
Any manufacturer of magnet cars is allowed including Carrera with only one magnet allowed an any car. The magnet stength of the magnet allowed will be tested before any race to make sure that the magnet strength of any one car doesn't give it an unfair advantage over the other cars in the race.
Carrera cars can race on the new routed track because the slots are now wide enough for the Carrera guides, however there is one lane on one corner that you may have to trim off the rear of the guide flag off to get around that sharp corner. Remember if you bought any slot car from Ace Hobbies, you are allowed to practice and race for free. Otherwise there may be a small fee if you have to rent a controller. The controllers all have the same kind of connect6ions to the track as before.
So even though Nick is not here this weekend, come around, see the new track and get some practice in or even race if we have enough racers this afternoon.
As The "Rock" would say "Finally Saturday Magnet Racing Has Returned to ACE Hobbies"
The action took place a little later than usual with the voltage set at 14 Volts on the "New" routed track.
First Race was Box Stock "Nascars" with 7 Racers and Nick of "SuperTires" on the button. was Yellow Dog with 67.40 laps was Russ with 67.20 laps was Bagman Racing with 66.40 laps (with a barrowed car from Russ)
4th was Gill with 63.20 laps
5th was Steve with 60.10 laps
6th was Todd with 57.90 laps
7th was Natalie with 52.90 laps
It was wreck strewed early as the racers got used to racing magnet cars on the "different" handling track for magnet cars became apparrent and had to be relearned by everyone.
Fastest lap was a 9.427 by Gill on white lane.
2nd Race was Magnet GT's with same 7 racers and Nick still on button but less one marshall. It was a closer race than Nascars and with an exploding Car crash. was Yellow Dog with 67.70 laps (by six inches over 2nd) was Bagman Racing with 67.70 laps (again with a barrowed car from Russ) was Russ with 66.50 laps (Survived crash minus several body parts)
4th was Steve with 65.40 laps
5th was Gill with 64.25 laps
6th was Natalie with 48.35 laps
7th was Todd with 42.35 laps (mechanical problems his final heat)
Fastest lap was 9.049 seconds by Russ on Blue lane.
Everyone got $10 ACE Hobbies Store credit from Nick of "SuperTires" for the first Magnet Race on the "New" track.
I would like to Thank Nick for the store credit which I already used for a layaway.
I also hope that it won't take Nick being here to give out store credits to see some more racers come for some Saturday "Magnet" Racing, because this was a fun day for everyone involved.
