Here is the link to the results. It is a different link than the first one. Is there someone who can give me a quick lesson on the right way to change the spreadsheet in google and retain the same link? If It is not a problem let me know.
Now for some controversy. What would a proxy be without some eh!
As everyone is probably aware, The long arm of the law aka Marshal inadvertantly activated the timing whilst reslotting a car. Consequently it showed that one of our Canadian friends had the fastest lap time. I am advised by the guys who ran the round that the car that actually recorded the fastest lap time in a race was the #3 Brabham. Given the owner of that car is my fellow race director I decided to go this decision alone and in the interests of getting things right I have awarded the 2 points for the fastest lap to car #3.
I hope everyone understands and if you ever found yourself in similar circumstances you may come to the same conclusion.
Here we go with all the results from round 3. (another new link)
We had three cars on the same number of laps so we took the decision to use the fastest lap time to determine the final order of the 4th to 6th placings.
There is still an Aussie out front but the Americans are mounting are strong challenge.
The next round is in Anna Bay in NSW at Terry Newsome's track.
Slo1quick is still leading but mmmoose1 is closing quickly. Has he gone too early? Beidmatt is 20 points off the lead in third place followed by Stig, Stubbo, Phil Kalbfell and Mike Akers. The #26 car won the VRAA by being consistent for the whole series. Will history repeat itself or will there be some surprises in the last three rounds Maybe the Canadian's are coming good at the right time. Will an Aussie win on home soil or will the American's prevail? (Starting to sound like an episode of Batman).
If you have any trouble with the spreadsheet let me know.
There is only 8 points between 1st and 3rd. With a maximum of 104 points left, still anything could happen.
The circus now moves to Victoria for the last 2 rounds.
We hope to run them over the next 2 weekends however one of the tracks is in an area affected by flooding so we may have make adjustments as we go.
Whilst on the subject of the weather, we have learned that some of our racers may have been affected by some severe storms in the US. We trust everyone is OK and our thoughts are with you and other friends and fellow slotters in the fire affected areas of the US as well. Stay safe everyone.
Here's a couple of pictures of some of the damage in Fort Wayne, Ken's home town.
They had winds of over 90 mph; electrical service knocked out for over 100K residents. Ken told me he had a tree about this uprooted right outside his home; fortunately, the tree missed Ken's home, unlike what happened to these homes.
Ken is okay, but a bit warm as there is no power, no A/C, and it may not be restored for a while. Ken told me he'd be spending a bit more time at the movies.. out of town!
Hope the flooding isn't too bad over there. All the best,
Mark

Reason: added another picture
The wind was weird. About ten miles ahead of the rain front was this wind front. It blew through here and then was still, then the rain came. I haven't been able to get up and look around, but a prelim look out the windows just shows some sticks down in the yard.
Glad to see you hauled yourself out of your sick bed albeit briefly Matt. Getting the flu in the summer is a bummer.
Congratulations on your victory. Looks like it will be another close finish.
I spoke to Ken this afternoon. He confirmed that he'll still probably have to wait until Wednesday before power is restored. He told me there is no traffic in his area due to all the felled trees, and about the only sounds in his neighborhood are the buzz and roar of chain saws. But Ken was in good spirits, sitting out on his screened porch and working on some George Turner kits. No surprise there.
I am back online. We still have 50 k homes without power. The older neighborhoods with old growth trees took a beating, the above ground power lines in those areas are in shambles. When a big tree comes down on power it can take out quite a few poles with it. The storm damage would have not been so bad if we would have not been in a drought with less than a tenth of an inch of rain in the last 45 days. The trees were so dry and the ground is so dry that the strength was there to keep them up.
I took a walk around my block and I saw three trees that had the roots broken off the trunk that had fallen down and one intersection that was completely blocked with huge limbs down. Mr Akers is also without power still and he had a tree come down on his house that took part of the roof off over his kitchen. He has workers at his place doing the cleanup and repairs right now. Thank you for all your prayers, it was much appreciated.
Ken
With only 8 points separating 1st and 2nd it is going to run down to the wire.
The next and final race will be at Cheltenham Park this coming weekend. This will be the first time this track has been used in anger. Not sure what to expect.
Can Matt's red devil find the 22 points he needs to catch up to the #3 Brabham? Will the P48turn the tables and win the series at the death?
Alan. I read ten points separating Slo1 and myself. . . Since Slo1 has never finished off the podium in all the previous races it looks like I need to win and he needs to finish third and take fast lap to take the overall win . If I just win and Slo1 finishes third we would finish with a tie in points. What is your tie breaker in case? If Slo1 finishes in second place or better he wraps up the title.
Will the newly found power in the P48 outrun the 030 motor on what looks to be a very fast track?
It should make for an interesting finish to the series.
Thanks guys for putting on this very entertaining series, I have enjoyed it immensely. Kudos to keeping it on time and well reported.
