You previously mentioned the larger, wood track guides not being a good choice for your track. Do the scaleauto 1/24 car guides work well stock or do they need to be cut down some for your track?
For the enduro, is it safe to say there will be more than 4 two-man teams? There will be 3 teams from our group and I'm assuming at least 2 from Alabama and of course Alan's team and team mate.
How about instead of limiting teams to only 2 drivers per team and having possibly more than 4 teams (1 per lane) ---- allow 2+ drivers per team and limit the number of teams to 4 teams. I think this will equate to about the same amount of track time per driver, and this way everyone will be on the track all at the same time and a team isn't left on the side sitting out at any point.
Like some of us in Chicago last year, I'm sure the guys won't mind shuffling teams around.
It was just a thought, but it's perfectly ok the way it is.
Also, this is mainly for practice purposes - is every entrant receiving a pair of 1/32 Scaleauto Sponge tires for the GT class and a pair of 1/24 Scaleauto Sponge tires for the Endurance race or is it only 1 pair of 1/24 Scaleauto Sponge tires for the Endurance race per team?
....4 three driver teams would be preferable to 6 two driver teams....and the race would run quicker too. And be easier to handicap the teams to acheive better balance. What is the estimated participant count, Lawrence??

I would expect some of the Scaleauto guides will need trimming. Te latest Mercedes and Jaguar had very deep guides ( over 9mm if I remember correctly. ) Even on my track I had to file them to allow the front wheels to touch, otherwise the guide was hitting the bottom of the slot.
I agree with Mark completely!! I had actually been thinking about the teams for the ScaleAuto race and what to do with more than 4 cars/teams. We can decide on teams that Saturday morning.
Jason, I have had to cut my 1:24 ScaleAuto guide blades down a good bit. The depth of the slots on my track is 0.3" (if memory serves) and the gain as well as the braid are slightly recessed. I will measure the slot depth and the depth of the guide blades on my ScaleAuto GT cars and get back to you.
So far, it's looking like we will have a minimum of 12 racers and possibly 16 (if not more.) I am very excited to be able to host such an event. And I am always excited to see great friends whom I don't get to see on a regular basis.

Thought I might show y'all some photos of the updates I have made to CMP since January:
I have removed a massive tangle of old cable wires and the metal conduit that hing from the floor joists. The drivers' stations were color matched with their lanes and new bar stools were added for comfort. I have also upgraded the lighting simply because I was not satisfied with the level of brightness over the track. There was also a bad shadow in turn 14 where a banner blocked light. The addition of the extra lighting solved this problem.
And finally, yes that is the 1:24 ScaleAuto Mercedes SLS GT3 !!! Beautiful car. Runs well and is not top heavy like the Jaguar XKR RSR. Its' weight is comparable to the BMW M3 and the Jag, however, it handles more like the Porsche 997 RSR from ScaleAuto. I haven't had a lot of time to test it for the upcoming race though.

Yes, I may have to haul some sandbags to improve my pick of teammates! Either way, I hope my teammate has a good car because mine are junk!!!
