Default Carrera Can Am Series Results and Final Standings

ROUND 1 CARRERA CAN AM SERIES PATLANTA

It's week 1 of EMSA's Third Series . We all pretty much decided to give
the Carrera Can Am cars a shot . Except for their lack of fondness for
Classic track , the racing was close as any series we've run in the past .

It was also a first for EMSA's Rally Stage Series . We ran Tim's Avant
Peugeot 207 . No sand bagg'in in rally racing . It's you against the clock . As
everybody took they'er run it was fun watching the expressions on everyone's
face as they pushed their racing skills to the limit . I was lucky enough
to take the first stage by .7001 sec over Vic . Home track advantage

To Pat To Vic and to Roger

In the IROC race I dusted off some old Fly Listers , they had been waiting on the shelf
for a 4th , about 4 to 5 years now . Pop the mag add a little lead , add luf's urethane
tires and some gear mesh time . We we're off and running . The cars started out a quite
different as lane 2 had a distinct advantage over the others for a couple heats . The others
caught up quickly and made for some great racing . If one started early in lane 2 , you were
lucky .

Now for the series race , like I said the Carrera Car's aren't in love with the Classic track
and showed their displeasure several times with unexplained outs hear and there . As far
as the racing itself , It was great . The difference between the Big can and Long can made
it even more interesting . The 917's had the speed with the McLaren's and Lola's having a
huge advantage in the breaking . It's fun having to change your game for these cars and it
look's to be a great Series . Round 1 goes to Greg ( Good Job )

To Greg To Vic and to Roger

The Rally Stage Series is a kick and looks to become a regular part of our racing menu .

Next Week To Quick Vic's , so remember to back off on the CAN AM car's

Happy Independence Day

I wonder if we turn the power down on the Classic track if they would run better? Never mind, Vic doesn't have an adjustable power supply.

Default Round 2 carrera can am series victory lane

ROUND 2 CARRERA CAN AM SERIES VICTORY LANE

What a difference a week makes , most the guy's figured out the
CARRERA'S kinda ? We ran the second stage of the WRC
RALLY SERIES . Which is a kick and Vic brought out some NINCO
maged DTM's .

For Stage 2 of the Rally segment we ran Greg's humble offering , a
NINCO COROLLA NC-1 powered . Though it wasn't as quick as Tim's
Peugeot that we ran last week that didn't keep some of the boy's
from rolling it down the main straight trying to bet the clock . We
run in the order of the pervious weeks placing . First first , second
second and so on . This week team Gaub stood on the top 2 steps
of the podium .

to Greg , To Alex and To Pat

Like I said it was a rare occasion racing Vic's NINCO DTM's . Running
them with A lot more downforce than most anything we usually race .
The cars where a bit more sticky and had excellent braking . But change
is good , It's actually fun racing something different . Some of us even had
to change the settings on our controllers . What a concept , It
was a lot of fun , people still came off and just as often . At the end it was
that old Vic guy again .

To Vic , To Tim and To Greg

http://slotcarillustrated.com/portal...1&d=1341970671

In the series race we seemed to show a little more patience than week
one . The Carrera car's certainly liked Vic's track better than mine . The
racers had the cars figured out and racing was fun . Again the best part
about the cars to me is the difference in the big can and long can motors
The strength and weaknesses of different cars makes for some great
racing . John Q came out of the blocks on fire and it looked to be a 917
night but then the tires went away and all the others caught up . At the
end of the evening there was only 4 points between the top four racer's
with 4th place having the most laps.

To Tim - 125 , To Vic - 124 and To Pat - 123 Roger -122 , 101 laps

http://slotcarillustrated.com/portal...1&d=1341970712

Thanks to Vic for trying his best to keep us all comfortable in the heat .

Next week we'll see what these things can really do as we make our way
to Tim's and the open road of Summit Archer Raceway

No problem Greg , as long as no one thinks I'm trying to take over the club or anything

like that . I'm just working on my Smile and Spirit of Sportsmanship

Oh, I think you are I am chagrined at how I was at Vic's, and then my vibrating Black label McLaren out did the 917. I hope I do better at the wood tracks and the one Rogers Sport. I'm thinking about firing my driver Milt Minter and hiring Jody Scheckter, or replace my trigger finger.

Don't sweat it, John. It just goes to show how even all these cars are, despite their different shapes and motors. It's really nice to have so much fun, even, and fair racing, where all the cars not only meet the letter of the spec, but the spirit behind it . I am also really looking forward to running them on Tim's wood track. It should be a lot of fun. They'll run great at Blair's track, too. He's a great guy and a great track host, and always a joy to race and visit with.

Thanks Greg, you always know what to say to make me feel better, hee hee I've got the full Carrera guide in my 917, I think on Tim's track running the stock Carrera guide was fine, but on Blairs track, you will have to make the length shorter. I think thats right, do you concur Greg?

Yeah. Bring all three to every race, just in case, but I believe Tim's will support the stock guide, and Blair's will use the Sport guide.

Default Round 3 carrera can am summit archer raceway

ROUND 3 CARRERA CAN AM SUMMIT ARCHER RACEWAY

After 2 rounds on the classic tracks we make our way to the much anticipated
Summit Archer Raceway . It was great to see what these cars could do on a
track more suited to them .

We started the night with the 3rd stage of EMSA's newest racing segment
WRC Rally Racing . We ran Vic's Fly Racing Rally 911 a great car with spring
suspension and Fly's racing motor . This series has been a kick in the 3 weeks
of it's existence we've had 3 different winners . With 5 seconds between the top 5
racers and only 4 tenth's of a second between 3rd and 5th . This week Tim took
top honors . Might be , just might be that home track advantage thing again . It
worked pretty well at my track .

To Tim , To Vic and To Pat

http://slotcarillustrated.com/portal...1&d=1342636973

In the IROC race we ran Greg's NINCO Raid Off Road Vehicles . Except for the
Truck being a little top heavy the rest were pretty even and completely different
from most anything we've run in recent past . Vic lead the way keeping his nose
clean and staying on all 4 during his stent in the truck .

To Vic , To Tim and to Roger

http://slotcarillustrated.com/portal...1&d=1342635106

Finally we get to the series race , it was Fast and Furious as the Carrera cars had
a chance to stretch their legs at the open road of Summit Archer . The Can Am cars
loved Tim's track . Running laps in the mid 7's the car's were on par with most any-
thing we've ever run there . After or during the 3rd heat we had a scoring glitch and
our host was the lucky benefactor of a race restart . Don't get me wrong he earned
it but it still reopened the door. With only 1 lap separating the top 3 it was one of the
closest race's of the year . Great Job Tim .

To Tim , To Vic and To Pat

http://slotcarillustrated.com/portal...1&d=1342636973

Thanks to Tim for hosting , Greg for the IROC cars and everyone one else
for making it another fun night . It was good to have Troy back in the mix
as well .

Next week another Carrera friendly track as we make our way to Blairs
and Spa Masenchamps
