Well, unfortunately I have no race reports to post. the heat was too intense added to conflicting personal schedules with a couple of the regulars.

Last Tuesday's race schedule was cancelled due to the excessive heat on that day. I was at the track and after the sun got low in the sky the heat dropped off and it was tolerable. When I left the house though my outside thermometer needle was past 105d F.

We are going totry again this Tues. If you live in the area come on by, I will be there.

Bob,

I will be there and I will call folks to see if they can make it as well.

Looking forward to another grand night of racing.

BTW - the INOX that you started using is AWESOME! We are now running lap times at 11.5 volts that we were at 11.8 volts. Track electrical contacts make for super power! Thanks for finding that stuff and using it on the track.

How about something 'different' for a warm-up race? I know you have those Formula 1 cars sitting there. How about if we put some laps on them? It should be a blast.

See you Tuesday!

There were no races last Tuesday July, 17th, but those who did show up had a good time practicing. Tonight is an even Tuesday but it's looking like we may have enough racers to run a formal race or two. So if you are in the area come on by.

Well we had a pair of impromtu races at the Glen on Tuesday evening. Marty and I had been hanging around since about noon practicing and tuning on several of our cars. About 6:30 Chuck arrived and he started checking out which of his cars... he wanted to race. Around 7:00 Rick showed up and since we were already practicing with Scaley Start LMP cars they were what we raced first. In the first heat Chuck's car took a hard hit into the wall and ended up with a busted rear hub. He continued the race with my backup car. At the end of the first heat Chuck was in fourth two laps back, while I was in third one lap behind the leaders Marty and Rick.
At the end of the second heat Rick was in the lead, I was in second one lap back while Marty and Chuck were fighting for third two laps behind the leader.
During the third heat Rick, Chuck and I ended up on the same lap while Marty had some car trouble and slid back to three laps behind.
In the fourth and final heat Chuck pulled ahead and won by one lap, while I came in second. Rick dropped back to three laps behind the leader and Marty finished five laps back. Congrats to Chuck Eakin for pulling out a victory after a bad start.

For the second race we decided upon Scaley F1 cars and ran the race in IROC format with the cars staying in the same lane throughout the race.
Chuck took the lead in the first heat beating Rick and Marty by one lap while I struggled a bit ending four laps back
Rick jumped into the lead in heat two leading Cuck and Marty by three laps while I dropped back and additional lap.
In heat three Rick increased his lead to four laps over Marty, five laps over Chuck and seven laps over me.
In heat four Rick continued to dominate and ended up winning the race by six laps over Chuck, seven laps over Marty and eight laps over me. Congrats to Rick Turner for a well driven race.
