You know I voted for Marc's Cobra and I think he had THE complete package; Body and chassis, but honestly this being a scratchbuilt proxy I thought afterwards that maybe I should have voted for the best chassis? Or maybe we could have a separate award for best chassis?

Times change and those who design their bodies or chassis on their PC and let them be 3D printed talk about scratchbuilding, too.
Scratchdesigning, scratchpainting, scratchprinting, scratch assembling and and.....
If separating anything ( next time...) I´d suggest to separate all the CAD things from the rest. Simply because meanwhile there are two different ways of gaining the aim of a selfmade model .
The "traditional" one and the "new" one...
But would we have enough participants for both sections then ? I dare to doubt....
Let´s continue the way actually gone and see how 43rd SCALE slotracing will develop - that´s interesting and challenging enough, I think.

We have already discussed this at length and I think it was decided that the Printed chassis did qualify as scratchbuilds. What harm was done? Their competitiveness is still a question mark at this point! When printed chassis start sweeping the top spots (and we get a decent number of entries) we can talk about excluding and separating. The point of this whole thing was to encourage innovation, exchange of idea's and developement of 1/43 as a serious scale of slot cars. Personally I think that in 5 or 10 years a large percentage of us will be producing our kit bashes and scratch builds via the printed route. I think it might be some time before they take all the top race spots, but it's certainly a possibility as well and personally as much as I like brass Chassis you gotta like the clean design you can get from a printed chassis.

I agree with both.
Printing is the future.
Handmade chassis no matter from what material are something completely different.
Both ways are challenging and show what potential our hobby has.
