This sounds interesting...

But how come other manufacturers like NSR or Mr Slotcar aren't allowed in the "Manufacturer's Challenge Race"?

Default Cars are lines I import, Arrow, Avant Slot, BRM, Scaleauto + Slot.it.

This is primarily a Scaleracing Event. With lines distributed by my Company.

We run races for Slot.it Group C and allow them into my Events as Maurizio has always supported my efforts.

At this time NSR do not advertise here, or support my Racing efforts at all, would be happy for them to join in

Regarding MrSlotcar.ca Ernie is a good friend of mine but these races ( Manufacturers Challenge ) are not for Group C only GT/LMP type cars.

Hope this helps clarify this for you Dickie, love to see your racers there.

More as soon as I finalise this Scaleracing Event.

Default Rules will be announced soon and Event pricing.

The actual pricing will be finalised and announced by me as soon as I can. I thank Robert and Glen for working with the Race Place and I to get the local Racers out to support this Event.

There will be updated Slot.it Croup C Rules, slightly changed from last year.

There will be updated Manufacturers Challenge GT1/LMP Rules updated and posted here very soon, they will include Arrow.

The Scaleauto 1/24th Rules have been updated to include the weights on the latest cars.

The BRM Challenge Rules will be updated soon, but no big changed are being made, those will also be posted soon.

I hope with the help of the Racing groups in the NE to build this into an Annual Event for these Brands.

Hope to see you at the Races.

Dickie,

I would highly recommend running in this event if ya'll get the chance! Some of our Atlanta group has participated in the event over the last two years and it was awesome! What makes this event so much fun is all of the different classes run over the course of the weekend and the fact that they all contain cars that run well on this type of track with the specified foam tires. Unlike alot of events where you run one maybe two classes, you have the opportunity to race four different classes and some of them more than once in the sprint, single events then again in the team events. Then if you have a bad race due to a bad car (couldn't happen to you....) or car failure you just put that junk up and move onto the next event!

Default Certainly can plan more races.

Biggest thing is to have a good idea on entrants, so we can schedule the Eventsa. Without knowing who will be there is is difficult to plan the races.

Could run a Megane IROC race.

Hey Mark. Yes, it's the closest major airport to Farmingdale, a bit less than 1 hour driving distance. Would be great for you folks to make the trip.

Default Will find out local Hotels ASAP.

Will check with the Raceway regarding local Hotels, and see if we can arrange a Special Rate.

More soon, thanks Robert regarding the Airport info.

I think the brm toyota should be allowed to run washers on the body mount screws. Thus keeping it equal to the Brm Porsche in the event of a crash . As it is now the Toyota is the only car that explodes on impact. The rules allow you to change over the Porsche that comes with o ring set up. Why not the Toyota ? To keep the cars more even.

Default 10 Porsche came with the fixed bodies.

There are 10 Porsche models that come with the fixed body, held to the chassis with screws and washers. These can run either this way or be converted to the later O Ring chassis. This requires cutting off part of the post on the body that locates the body on the chassis. Once done you cannot run these bodies withe the non O Ring Chassis.

The last 3 Porsche Jager, Omron and Camel come with the O Ring Chassis and have to run unmodified that way, no extra washers to retain the bodies in a hard impact. Also no tape is allowed to control the body to chassis connection. Driven with the right mindset this is not normally an issue, but yes it can happen.

The Toyota's have only come with O Ring type chassis so have to run that way. Also the Toyota has to run with a narrower width, both front and rear axles, and more added BRM weights to comply with the 180 gram minimum weight rule. Only BRM weights are allowed, no lead or other weight is legal. They can only be fitted in the correct designed positions, and cannot be cut, they can be stacked. A Toyota will need at least one complete weight kit 1mm thick to reach minimum weight.

So if you feel you are at a disadvantage with a Toyota or later Porsche you can enter the earlier design chassis, but no retro converting a late car to the earlier parts.

Thanks for the info, Robert.

Jaybird, Delta flights to Philadelphia at this time (Thursday 6th - Monday 10th) ranged from $200 - $250 for economy and flights to Newark on the same time schedule ranged from $289 - $350 for economy.

It seems flights to Philadelphia will save a little bit of cash - just an extra half hour of driving with the rental car.
