Looks like it was s short in the car, swapped a chip from a good car, went about a foot then a little puff of smoke and the chips fried. Jadlam are cool and said send it back with the chips and they'll replace. I'll pick up a couple of spare chips from local hobby shop today. Man o man are we having some fun with the 2 working cars. it's nice when you buy something and it exceeds your expectations (albeit with a couple of minor technical glitches). Thanks again for all your help.

Yikes. Sounds like that car was REALLY bad. Or rather, the motor was. Possible the "ferrite man" was shorting on the motor can, though that's usually well guarded against.
Anyway, it's great Jadlam is replacing the stuff for you. You'll be back to 4 car racing pretty soon, and a couple spare chips won't be spare long... I foresee a couple new cars in your very near future. ;-)

I was showing your plans to a few of the lads on Saturday and they're all mightily impressed. A couple of them suggested i look at making the corners into and out of the back straight banked to allow a bit more speed. Whats been your experience with banked corners and do you reckon it'd be worth it? Most of my mates race road bikes so have an unhealthy obsession with speed. On the SSDC front I'm going to have a crack at PCLC and see if it is any more stable than SSDC. Without the capacity to run pace cars SSDC is really only usefull for the fuel management to me. Fun with a bunch of guys but i also enjoy racing on my own.

Yeah, you could bank that. It wouldn't take much to give a pretty good increase in speed through there. I wouldn't try to do much more than 15 degrees, though. The track isn't meant to be banked, so a high bank will cause problems. You could get a set of R3 banked turns there, but I think a slight bank on R4 will be better than a medium bank on R3.

Do you think if i shortened the flyover I could fit these into the pit area? Says you need to 2 curved single lanes gap to fit them.

I'm still planning on using the space under the back straight for Pit garages so think it'll probably be too tight but am keen to hear your thoughts.

Talked my buddy out of banked corners as well, they look like they'd bottom out F1's.

yeah, that's another reason to go with a slight bank using R4, rather than actual banked track. You could get a little bank to help keep the speed up there, but not cause cars problems with staying in. Actual banked track has the extra curve to it, but just giving a 10 degree bank on flat track doesn't make that happen.

As for the pit lane wall thing, it could probably be done. I don't think you'll need to adjust anything other than the pit lane itself. Just use a pack of R3 single lane turn pieces to jog out the pit lane itself. The hard part comes with getting the ends to fit together again, as the track wasn't designed to do that. Unfortunately, I had a hard drive crash and lost that layout. I'll see if I can draw up just the pit lane real quick and see how hard it will be to adjust it for pit walls.

Looks like you'd only need to split a short straight to make the ends meet if you used 4 single lane curves to move the pit lane away from the track. The result is the exact amount of space you'd need for that neat pit wall.

Download Race Coordinator for SSD . It's a very nice piece of software also.

Many Thanks. They just look too cool not to try fit in. That's sucks about your PC. Nothing worse than losing stuff, my partner lost a thesis once. We now back up everything twice.

Will check out Race Co-ordinator injectorman.
