Vols,

One of the nicest things about the Slot.It 'motor pod system' is that you CAN do things like you're talking about trying, but you always have the ability to go back to where you started without cutting, fabricating or making any non-reversable modifications.

Never be afraid to try anything.

BTW - if you go to a 12 tooth pinion on that Ferrari, it will wake it right up! That's something I have tried that I like. We race on a Scaley Sport track of 67 feet per lap and the Ferrari now passes just about all the other 'Classic' cars down the except for my #8 Ford GT40 MK-II. But I think that's because of Carroll Shelby's involvement.

Fl Slotter,

Thanks for the input and encouragement. I'll have to agree with you on the GT40 MkII.

I have done it, using a flat6R and a 1.0 pod. I don't remember having trouble with the interior, and I also used a mag suspension in the rear. The spur gear was a 28T, and no problem with that either. On Ninco the car became ultra fast, but that has to do with the increased downforce that led to higher grip and managed to make use of the extra power. For non mag tracks, I think it wouldn't help so much....
I switched it back to SW eventually. I see no point in having a 312PB that laps faster than an Avant Slot R10 modern LMP racer.
