Default Brad Bowman..

I must say that over the years it seems that Brad has been constsant. his track basically uses the same rail type and height as Tomy tracks (costs a little more) he also makes tracks that can be coonnected to Tomy tracks.....and looking at what he has done for the guys in MA...he may be the only one left standing...and for good reason...

I saw enough detail from the people screwed over (it was more than 2) to know I would not touch them with a bargepole. It is pointless having 190 happy customers if you royally screw some others I would say.

I ordered my MaxTrax in 1999. Arrived six months later when promised. Sold the Max and ordered my TKO in 2010. I had to push the TKO delivery date back a month. Track arrived on the agreed upon delayed date. No hidden charges or problems with either manufacturer.

That is how things should always be, but does not seem to reflect how they are now.

I ordered a Brystal Kit track and sent the deposit in at the end of October and received the track at the beginning of December, it took me a few weeks before I was able to pick it up, or I would have had it earlier.

Bryan was a pleasure to work with and I am very happy with the precision of the product and the extra time he spent working with me on the custom layout. Brystal is alive and well and builds a high quality product. They do not advertise on the web which is why I think they are overlooked.

Or.... that is the secret to their success. Word of mouth, fewer posers or browsers, more intelligent buyers who understand the time-frame, process, are patient, etc.

I have a Brystal in my Aurora Tub and I'm in the process of designing another Brystal to fit my 6 x 20 foot table. You get what you pay for.

.

How many custom routed tracks do you have in your abode?

Were any of them behind schedule?

Have you ever routed a track?

Not tryin' to start anything, I was just curious.

ST, I believe Brad B. has been involved with sections for the Derby track.

Oh dear. You seem to have learnt nothing from your Bianchi fiasco, which is what I predicted at the time.

For the record all the routed track I have came in on budget and for the most part on time. Where there were delays the communication was first class.

Even if that were not the case, so what? My opinion is that we seem to be overly tolerant of bad and borderline fraudulent behaviour from our suppliers, so desperate are we for new product. We take tongue-lashings from Dazh if we dare to say one of his bodies looks inaccurate, as he has the keys to the holy grail - a copy of the TJ chassis.

We allow the guy with the the graphics business to take our money at the speed of light and then wait ages with no communication, ditto the guy with the large website with black backgrounds. We hear of track manufacturers, who regularly deal in four-figure sums, causing people untold worry through having their money and not communicating, and say 'I hope they can continue'.

When I say 'we', I don't include myself obviously. Many others have spoken out about this, and yet curiously you leave them alone

I have not routed a track, but again, so what? These guys have, and there is a right way and a wrong way to do business, right?

That is correct, but I am not involved with that track. I seem to recall it was delivered exactly as was agreed over 3 races, with the track being a Tomy-BB hybrid for two of them.

I'll admit to being torn on this subject.

I've routed a total of nine tracks, all told. 5 of those were purchased as a transaction, the other were for friends and I charged nothing for my time. I do not have the resources to buy the materials or the CNC time up front, So I asked for 50% down to cover the costs.

I would NEVER accept full payment in advance.

I also am very familiar with small businesses and how easily you can get into a hole if you get sick. It happened to a close family member not long ago. Please try to remember that this is probably not the only thing the folks running Max Trax do for a living.

I hope they can find their way out of this problem. Maybe anther player can step in and try to complete outstanding work.

Now have other players been negligent? YUP.
Are there folks that can be trusted? YUP.

You do the math.
